I've long experienced the disappointment of buying a video or DVD of a movie and discovering that content has been cut since its first release. Sadly, as there is no site which offers running time comparisons for X rated movies, doing research of what releases of which titles have been cut.
I'd love if IAFD would add another field where different editions of movies can be compared for their completeness as it could take some of the guesswork out of buying.
Do you think that's possible?

We have been working on a structural solution to deal with different versions of the same movie for more than 2 years -- not just run times, but also differences in sex acts and even cast lists. We (and when I say "we" I really mean Jeff) have been getting closer to a solution in the past couple of weeks. One (crucial) part of the solution is more or less ready to go, I believe. I am sure Jeff will issue a press release or some other form of announcement to let everybody know when it is made public.

Jeff has just made solution #1 public. We have added an open Comments Fields in which we can mark differences between different versions of a movie.
See Salieri Erotic Stories 2.

Walter, this is the first time I noticed a "comments" section of the IAFD database.
I hope you may include in that section other general comments which would be very useful to people consulting the movie titles. For instance, that two of the actresses are sisters, daughter and mother, real husband and wife, etc. That originally the movie included a fisting scene, that a movie was withdrawn and reissued without a particular scene, etc.
Are you contemplating such an idea, or is that section just reserved for movie length issues???

Len, read my previous post again. Wait. Let me mark some crucial words.
Also check out the link I provided as an example. You will see that much more than just different runtimes will be noted.
About your suggestion for comments on performers being related. We will also add a comments field to the perf pages. Comments about perfs will be placed there. We are not going to add the comments that perfs are related or married on every movie page.

Yes, great Walter! I think a "comment" section in a performer databasse would be great to indicate some background information that goes beyond date of birth, measurements, etc. If for instance one went to consult the filmography of Paula Price one would learn she is the sister of porn actress of Brittany and was married to Eric Price...
