I justed watched this interview on youtube... and it leaves me with a few thoughts...
Sasha, I would really like to know the Honest reasoning about your decision to get into porn. I mean were you really thinking "I love sexuality in all its forms of activity so I want to get into porn" OR was it mainly money motivated? And if it is, then that's ok. Many people like Attorneys go into their profession because of the money in it. Yet nobody questions them about why they got into that business for the money. But... what really made you decide to GO FOR IT? Was it your passion for doing sexual things or was it the money that comes from it? I'm curious.
I think you are a fantastic performer Sasha and always look forward to watching your work, whether Tyra thinks it's cool or not! :) You radiate with a sexual energy that I don't see in many performers...and I love the vibe!
Keep it hot baby!

I like her energy... She is a fun performer to watch... Though she would be a lot more attractive if she got rid of that messy landing strip rug of hers... Ugghh...

I think Sasha is the REAL DEAL. She's in it for the pure pleasure of it. I think the money aspect of it, is just second nature. She's a real smart cookie from what I've read too. So there's plenty of brains in that pretty noggin of hers to boot. And girls should have a tiny bit of pussy hair. It shouldn't be completely shaved down there. It just doesn't look right.
Tyra Banks is just mad, cause there was this chick who was using her name in the Porn Biz. Remember America is a country founded by PRUDES. So anything sexual, is sensationalized. I just wish they would use more hot, pretty lingerie in gonzo porn, kinda like the way they do over seas.

Tyra is just jealous that Sasha followed her passion and didn't let other people's narrow-minded opinions sway her. Sasha gets to enjoy the pleasures within her body daily while Tyra is stuck on a couch interviewing people more interesting than she is! :)

Banks is a hypocritical jackass prancing young, barely dressed girls around on her other show hoping for as many cat fights as possible.

thanks RizDawg for alerting us to the youtube clip. Tyra Banks is a goofball. I'll never understand why these adult stars continue to go on these type of talk shows and get disrespected by these nitwit hosts. I would think Sasha has some issues but why Tyra blames/accuses pornography. Girls working in banks, assembly-lines, government offices, pharmacies etc have issues and none of these talk show hosts blame those jobs.

I agree with Random...
Porn doesn't pay enough to do it just for the money. Read my mission statement/manifesto on myspace...ask my agent I sent that to every agent that I talked to before I decided for Spiegler to represent me. What I told Tyra, The Insider, my fans, my co-workers, etc...it's all over the internet I've done many many interviews it's not hard to figure out. No I don't have issues, thank you though for being that part of our mediocre society who continuously keep me laughing!

In my opinion all the people are in the business for money, someone also to become famous. they risk to take herpes (Belladonna recent case) hiv (Darren James and Marc Wallice epidemies) and others nice diseases for what? sexual pleasure? they have sexual pleasure also in their private life, and if you like big woody dick you can go to Jamaica, and use condom yet.
money is good. I don't feel shame saying I work in finance for money, not to change the fucking world.

I want Sasha to be my baby mama. Her, Jayna Oso, Veronica Jett, and I can all move to somewhere in Utah and be a big happy family.

**[Disclaimer]** - I'm saying this jokingly because I don't have kids, don't want kids, and think that rampant reproduction is lame. I'm just saying "baby mama" as a term of endearment towards stars that I like.

heya Sasha. I beg to agree to disagree, everyone has issues. It's not necessarily a bad thing. But for instance during your Tyra interview you said to her that it's ok for a guy to punch you in your stomach. You're perfectly free to do with your body as you please. But me, Everett, I was raised never to hit a female in her belly cause that's where her uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries and everything associated with reproduction are located. And a girl/woman can be impaired for life if she's damaged there. Now you may think it's fine or fun NOW for some costar to punch your stomach but the day might come later in your life when you may want to bear children and you'll go to the doctor and he'll come back with some bad news, god forbid, that you can't bear children or carry to term because your uterus has been perforated. Tyra says a lot of silly things but she or that fat blond was right when they ssid that punching or hitting has nothing to do with sex. Just my thoughts on the subject. All my best Sash.

ughhhhh....i'm not talking about getting a beat down cuz i done be barefoot in da kitchen mak'n a pot pie wrong ...i'm talking about safe consensual sadomasochism...please educate yourself ...for some folks they like some bush some don't ...some like like big old tits , and some like blondes and some like rope as a turn on etc. so your wrong about the correlation between sex and hitting every time you get or give a little love tap on the ass "thats experimenting" with SM....so hitting has lots to do with sex if that is what you enjoy...just they same way we have "extreme sports sky diving shit like that.
If you don't like that sort of thing don't watch it....and you don't have to be molested or beat or have a shitty childhood to enjoy or even dip a toe into BDSM ...because i was never a victim myself doesn't mean that it can't be cathartic / therapeutic to explore this kind of sexual behavior for people who have. And folks Tyra was a TV show.

Maybe we can share them in a "group home"?
Also, as for the "darker" side ... jeeze, like, what do you think 6-year-old kids do but freaking terrorize and beat the shit out of each other? Your corporate boss beats the shit out of you every day, but not physically. I've been with "normal" girls who just wanted you to bruise the shit out of them. Of course, they were Catholic.

forgive me if I sound like your parent or something. Im just being practical and don't want to see you get seriously hurt. Like I said before you're free to do as you please with your body. All of us are. But hey, I was 18, 19 years old at one time. I cant remember it but I was. I don't have any regrets from that time in my life. I don't have any consequences that I have had to pay. Unfortunately one doesn't stay 18,19 forever.

Yes. Most everyone who's into it does it safely (or relatively so). As long as you have an ounce of common sense and do it with people you trust, it's safer than driving to work or crossing the street.

I like the Freudian slip there ("fist"). And I love Sasha.
But I know I'd never be invited into CMJ's, Skronker's, Sasha's, Jayna Oso's, and Veronica Jett's "group home." But just don't call the cops on me for peeking into the windows, k?

oh shit. add Roxy to the list. I forgot that I'm her bf's doppelganger. He can't come to the group home, though. One handsome fella like me is enough. We don't want to drive all the ladies crazy. Shylock, Claire Robbins came come too if she wants. She's got a nice personality.

That's a great point... it's exploitation plain and simple. She dangles a carrot for these girls to chase, highlights any trauma or pain in their lives and passes herself off as some kind of liberator through modeling. And she's probably deluded into thinking that modelling is important and there isn't any kind of objectification occuring in that field. Judgement is easy when there is a clear violation of some fundamental moral code. Sex is powerful, yet engaging in it for pleasure, expression, even profit is by far more honest than selling an image of standard beauty to pre-teen and adolescent girls. Tyra might want to train herself as a clinical therapist and do some meaningful work with eating disorders and body dysmorphic disorders.
That interview was hilarious watching Tyra completely unable to get a rise from Sasha. She got pissy, pouty, and really sanctimonious saying Sasha should look deep within for answers she clearly had already thought through and presented legitimate answers just seconds prior. Tyra needs to take a look at her own motivations and justifications for prestning slanted, skewed, and otherwise biased information/opinions about basically anything that airs on her show - is it to make herself look good, be sensational enough to lure viewers, or create a persona that can market various product/media based on building said false trust.
It's so easy to feel defensive, and I admit my statements are based on emotion as I write this. Interesting. And I agree with Sasha that it is just a TV show - having been broadcast does not lend Tyra's opinions any weight nor does it qualify as a genuine source of information. People watch Tyra to be entertained, not to have questions answered, and those who watch Tyra to have questions answered have more pressing issues at hand.

I didn't think Sasha did too badly in this interview. Stuck to her beliefs and didn't balk under Tyra's condecending pressure to repent.
It was great when Tyra showed mock surprise at the age gap between sasha and her boyfriend. She was 18 and he was a whopping....wait for it....31!
Right there, Tyra showed a prudishness that is out of touch with most people's thinking.
I also enjoyed watching Tyra's comical 'deep in thought' face as she tried to 'dig' out the reason why Sasha was doing this to herself.
She just could not comprehend how a women could actually enjoy anything else than straight sex. It's just not natural to poor old Tyra!
If you asked her for a sexual fantasy she's probably come up with 'turning the lights on'.
I would also like to know who fired the massively obese blonde for porn work? Thats got to be the most perverse thing i heard all show.

I know that it's been a while since anyone posted anything about this, but I've finally had a chance to see this on Youtube, and Tyra Banks is a complete ignorant, egotistical, and hypocritical cunt. There's no other way of putting it. Kudos to Sasha for sticking up for herself in front of that biased and misinformed audience and beside that uneducated and biased moron Tyra. I know have a ton of respect for Sasha. Rock on beauty.

Yeah, I liked it a lot. If you like subtle, naturalistic.
If purity of intent counts for anything, then "Dance Party USA" may be one of the best American films of the year. Shot for what looks like almost no budget, with a young cast of unknowns in Portland, Ore., the movie is a mere 65 minutes long and is filled with as much open, elliptical space between its characters as the thoughts they struggle to articulate.
Directed by Aaron Katz, a 25-year-old filmmaker based in Brooklyn, "Dance Party" trails a pair of high school kids through the groggy mornings and beer-sodden late nights of a Fourth of July weekend, where scruffy teenagers congregate for keg parties and negotiate painfully tentative emotional connections — and quick, decisive sexual hookups.
On the surface, this sounds like a template trademarked by Gus Van Sant or Larry Clark. The lead actors, Cole Pennsinger and Anna Kavan, have the tousled, grungy, ripening look that is the essence of advertisements for American Apparel, a corporation that has learned a lot about sexualizing the barely legal from the lurid efforts of Mr. Clark. And, sure enough, the movie opens immediately with a shocking patch of dialogue, as Mr. Pennsinger's imaginative Gus details an explicitly gynecological misadventure with a 14-year-old girl for the benefit (and disbelieving disgust) of his best friend Bill (Ryan White).
The thing is, since Mr. Katz is very nearly a peer of his characters, his feel for their language and his choice in casting actors who can so naturally embrace it gives the scene — and the rest of the film — an almost documentary feel. This is enhanced by loosely intimate camera work, which compensates for the movie's washy color resolution with tight closeups and the casual exterior photography that has always been the inventive, low-budget filmmaker's best friend — going back to Rossellini's "Open City" and Godard's "Breathless." That air of verisimilitude, coupled with Mr. Katz's immediate kinship with his actors, is what separates him from the Clarks and Van Sants, who always manage to bring an edge of something exploitative or voyeuristic to their adolescent studies, even when it results in impressive work.
Certainly, the material here could lend itself to that. Gus, who is lanky and confident enough to talk girls into having sex with him, likes to make up outrageous stories about his exploits. He revels in this, much to his buddy's eye-rolling chagrin, but it's also a mask for a deeper longing that he hasn't figured out how to express. Ms. Kavan's Jessica, who is more reserved and analytical than her girlfriends, a "gamma girl" who sticks to the margins, already knows the score with Gus — or thinks she does. The two eventually converge after a hilariously low-key party scene, as littered with sharp nuance as half-empty plastic beer cups, and she blatantly calls Gus on his reputation and rejects his advances. Then he makes a startling confession, something that should send her running, but instead arouses a kind of sympathy. Jessica takes two sparklers out of her pocket and lights them, handing one to Gus. They sit in silence for a minute. Then she asks him, "Do you want to go somewhere?"
The way Mr. Katz anatomizes this moment, and the spare, simple details of what follows, is a remarkable act of insight and restraint, refreshing in its authenticity and absolute lack of manufactured effect. When the subject of Gus's confession actually materializes, as he seeks to take a kind of responsibility for his actions, the scene zeroes in on an awkward realism that amplifies the unspoken — painfully and redemptively so. Maybe Gus isn't such a gnarly misogynist, after all. The willingness to let these kids slouch through these ambiguities, reflected in the ambient plunk and twang of Keegan DeWitt's soundtrack, makes "Dance Party, USA" as poignant as it is brief.

Just had to throw my opinion out there...
We live in an anti-porn society filled with ignorant close-minded people who literally educate themselves by watching television. The media will show us whatever it wants us to see, because it can. So they take an interview from an already staged Tyra Banks show and edit-fuck the shit out of it. The result… a blond chick who can obviously speak on behalf of every sex worker in the business and an 18yr old Sasha Grey who has no idea what she is doing (because the blond chick and Tyra says so). Oh and by the way, the Tyra Banks show is very credible for any intellectual reference... it case that wasn’t obvious.
Sasha is extremely intelligent for her age and I wouldn’t doubt for a minute she wouldn’t stand up for her convictions. So she likes to be punched in the stomach… big fucking deal. If anyone sees that and says “Oh, I am going to start punching the people I have sex with in the stomach”, then they have much bigger problems than any of us.
To conclude, let’s try to be a little more supportive of each other, especially those in the industry. There is already too much negativity in this world; a little positive reinforcement never hurt anyone.

I doubt the jealousy angle, because I'm pretty sure that Tyra is content with being a millionaire, having two shows, and being known worldwide.
