We're working on a complete redesign of all of ADT. As part of this effort there will be some downtime to do some forum maintenance. I'm tentatively planning to take the forum offline sometime late Sunday night, February 3rd. or early Monday morning February 4th. The forum will be offline for about an hour while I make some changes. The complete upgrade process will take about 6 or 7 hours to finish but only 1 hour of it requires the site to be offline.

During the live portion of the upgrade every post in the forum will be reprocessed to a different database storage format. Posts that have been reformatted will have some different display elements. During the transition posts will render in both the new and old format. It's by design, don't be surprised. It takes a while to reprocess 3.3 million posts.

The offline portion of the maintenance is complete. The conversion process is still running. It's about halfway done. Older topics will display improperly formatted HTML until the process is complete. It should all be done in about 2 to 3 more hours.

Seems like everything went well. The only problem I see so far is a typo in the wink smilie code resulted in that shortcode not converting properly. I may try to fix it, or possibly just leave it.

There've been two (minor) changes that I've noticed and am getting used to. First, when I go to preview my posts now, my text is enlarged in the preview box. Secondly, when I use the "up" arrow (^) to reply to a post directly above mine, there appears to be a double space between the arrow and the first word of my text below, as if I hit the "Enter" key twice after I typed the arrow. Very minor, I know, it's just something I've noticed since the changes.

I need to do some work on the preview box....but I'm reluctant to put much time into it because that popup preview window will go away with the new site design we're working on. Instead of a popup window like the current site the new preview will be an overlay visible on the current page. A bit more like the [link] feature works. I want to move away from opening popup windows for all of these things.
