I had missed when Distribpix announced that they were working on a Blu-ray of Scoundrels. This is great news since the last deal that Howard had with Media Blasters only managed to get Neon Nights and Babylon Pink released on DVD. Command Video has a lot of great films in their library which will hopefully follow. Distribpix announcement. Edited by - Flash on Nov 10 2018
This is the best news of the New Year so far now if they could get some other great Cecil Howard titles like Firestorm, Platinum Paradise etc that would be great !!!!
I don't know how carefully Steven Morowitz chooses his words but this line, "This first restoration project has proven to be a bit challenging on a few levels, which is good, as it is our first time working together and finding the flow is half the battle," gives me hope since it states "this first restoration project" and not "the restoration process" that other Command titles will be restored next. Then again I was hopeful when Media Blasters started releasing Command Video under the Raincoat Cinema line, which seems to have gone poorly since there are press releases from when Media Blasters released the titles including quotes from Howard about the releases in 2005 but come 2008 he was suing Media Blasters for copyright infringement. XBiz article on the Media Blasters releases Listing for the lawsuit Distribpix has been doing a great job with their releases recently, definitely better than when they were releasing as Video-X-Pix and their first two Blu-ray releases were amazing. Hopefully this one is too and this isn't a one and done with the Command Video library. Edited by - flash on 1/13/2016 11:26:01 AM
As much as I love Cecil Howard Scoundrels ( very first film in 1983 to win The AVN Feature Film Of The Year Award ) along with Babylon Pink were not favorites of mine from The Command Library . I'm still very thrilled to see Cecil's films being remastered, because it does give me great hope that other Command titles will be remastered as well. I'm in total agreement with Hustler Magazine " Cecil Howard has never made a bad film".
Is this still being released? The initial announcement in Nov 2015 said it was being released shortly after the new year. I haven't seen any updates on it since. No updates of any kind from Distribpix. Even their Twitter hasn't been active since March 2015.
I hope that Cecil Howard's death hasn't blocked this from coming out. There have been updates, although very frew. The last of which was a year ago (May 20th, 2016) which showed a still from the opening company logo on the scanner(?). (Photo copyright Distribpix taken from Distrbpix Facebook here.)

Be great if the Alamo Drafthouse and their new spin-off non-profit could get involved in helping release this stuff but I guess they're already walking the edge with restoring and releasing bfilms. Although...are they the ones working on Batpussy?
Distribpix posted a photo on their facebook page today that Scoundrels is being released in July. I'm glad because I was starting to question if it was actually going to be released. Hopefully the rest of Cecil Howard's titles with be released soon also.
Awesome news! I had given up on it coming out. Hopefully Morowitz is faster with the next title. The picture from Distribpix Inc.'s Facebook page zanders59 is referring to.
Chances are it'll actually be some time in August, but I know for a fact that Steven has finally been able to having the finishing touches readied for the release. I'm guessing it'll be up for pre-order in July and actually ship in August though.
I'm not trying to be mean by saying this but Morowitz really needs to get his shit together or get someone else to handle some of Distribpix's releases. As of now, on the 18th of July, Scoundrels still states coming soon and can't be pre-ordered as of the time of writing this. Updated to add that the ability to pre-order is now functional. The actual releases come out on August 20, 2017. Edited by - flash on 7/18/2017 4:46:15 PM
^ Your initial statement still stands. With no consistency, there's no way he will achieve the success of VS. Moreover, those films sitting in the warehouse will never see the light of day.
The Cecil Howard Facebook page just announced that Foxtrot will be the next film of his to be released. The scan and restoration has already been done and the announcement of the release date and presales will be revealed soon. It was posted on the page recently also that they're planning on releasing 4 or 5 of his films next year. Lets hope that happens! Edited by - zanders59 on 11/17/2017 1:47:57 PM
One should always take such time based posts fron Distribpix with a grain of salt, as they have sadly proven time and time again, however, the Distribpix Facebook account for Cecil Howard posted this today.
According to the Cecil Howard facebook page, the next three releases start with the letter F. Foxtrot has been announced already, so I'm guessing the other two will be Firestorm 1 and 2 since they said they were releasing 80s stuff first. Was Firestorm 3 shot on film or video? I know that some of his later titles where shot on video and released several years after being shot.
They finally have the pre-order up for Foxtrot up on their site. They pushed the release date back to March 27 unfortually. Oddly enough, they haven't promoted the fact on social media yet either.
Did yours have a strange glitch on the menu screen of the DVD? I clicked on the theatrical trailer off the main menu, and it played the movie. I thought it was some new trailer at first until I saw that it was the length of the movie. The original trailer is intact on the DVD, but that weird menu tree branch is on mine. The bluray has no such issue. A small thing to notice, just wondering if it is on every copy.
I received Scoundrels and Foxtrot this past week. Gorgeous packaging. I haven't had a chance to watch yet but I'm looking forward to it.

Both are red hot for me. Beautiful women and really entertaining. Foxtrot slows down in last half for me, but the first half is so strong, I don't care. Ron Jeremy is in his prime and with Scoundrels, this is an awesome double feature. Sharon Mitchell looks incredible to me and the films are very seductive. The threesomes in both films are also true highlights. I don't have enough great things to say about these films. Very cool transfers and I hope to see more. I also hope to see Distribpix go back and do bluray releases of Babylon Pink and Neon Nights. MORE CECIL HOWARD IN HIGH DEF PLEASE!! I will buy them in a second. Who is with me! Show your support for more porn in high def on bluray. Edited by - genesim on 5/8/2018 10:13:47 PM
They've tentatively announced a mid-December pre-order and January release date for Firestorm and Fantasex. Both will be released at the same time. Let's hope things go as planned.
Yes they have. I changed the thread title yesterday to make it more generic but then completely forgot to post about it. From the Distribpix Facebook page for Cecil Howard.
