| mr_banks Member 322 Posts 6/05 | Does anyone have any knowledge of the Search Extreme website? A user on here directed me to it some time ago & I really rate it but it doesn't seem to be updated. Is it still an ongoing thing? If not, is there something else out there with that level of detail? It's really useful to know if a particular girl did this or that in a given scene. [Link] |

| mr_banks Member 322 Posts 6/05 | I know of the scene index on Adultdvdempire, it's good but nowhere near as detailed at Search Extreme was. If anyone knows who ran Search Extreme maybe an offer can be made to take over the running of it? Just a thought.... |

If you find an error in the listings, you can easily send them corrections via their website, or in the "IAFD Direct" forum here on ADT. FYI, when you say "postings," I understand that to mean being posted by visitors in an interactive way (like the forums here on ADT). So, again, what are you talking about? Are you possibly confusing the IAFD with the IMDb? |
| searchextreme New Member 1 Posts 10/09 | I am one of the owners of Search Extreme, and have been for 10 years. We had a good run - building traffic, making money - from 1999-2007, but as the profit margins of porn sites started turning downward, it became a game of diminishing returns. At the end of 2007, both my business partner and I were working on other time-consuming (and more profitable) side projects, and we decided to put Search Extreme on hiatus. We stopped updating the database in December 2007. As 2008 went on, we saw the adult market continuing to shrink, and knew that if we started up again, it was unlikely for the site to be as lucrative as it once was. We were very close to selling the site in 2008 to one of the biggest online DVD/VOD retailers. After a few months of negotiations, however, it fell apart. Every so often we have talks with different parties about selling, but so far we haven't pulled the trigger. So if anyone wants to buy it, I'm all ears. :) |
| mr_banks Member 322 Posts 6/05 | I can understand your remarks since it must take a huge amount of effort to maintain a site like Search Extreme. BTW - I will check out IAFD again (& no I wasn't confusing it with IMDB) but the problem I referred to is a long time back certainly wasn't meant to talk it down. That said, Search Extreme seemed to provide something I still haven't found anywhere else & I really hope someone can buy it and take over its day-today running. There must be someone out there listening....?!! |
