I recently viewed the Anthony Spinelli film [ invalid url ]
Does anyone know if that film (script) has ever been filmed using current technology? Possibly a different title and revised script, but essentially the same story line.
I also tried to find a review of this film. No luck. Can anyone point me to a review?
Maybe Flash has some information or background he could share?

Thanks!
I was wondering if anyone thought the same as I did about the film, in particular, Andrea True's portrayal.
From the review -
"Andrea True, who is rarely given any credit as one of the earliest porno stars and even less credit as an accomplished actress and singer, gives the performance of her career!"

Seduction of Lyn Carter is a vastly underrated Spinelli film. Much better than the following year's Portrait of Seduction but not quite as good as his other psych-thriller from '75, The Night Caller.
Andrea True was an excellent actress who was sadly given too few opportunities to display this quality.
Robert, how is the quality of the ABA release? I have an old video copy which is decent. I've heard the TVX version looks awful and is full of dropouts.

Unfortunately I know nothing about this title. I have it here on the ABA release but I haven't had a chance to view it yet.

I was surprised by the quality. I found it to be relatively good. Emphasis on the word relatively. It had he usual color correction problems, particularly the room scene where the walls were green which resulted in the entire scene having a green cast.
It is probably equal to the VHS videos of that era and certainly not distracting, although I must say having never seen this film before it was quite engaging so my impression of the visual quality is just that - an impression.
I would judge the other two titles, "Summer Session" & "Dance of Love" on that DVD to be of noticeably lesser quality.

Cool. Thanks for the info!
FYI, Jonas Middleton's rarely seen 1974 film Illusions of a Lady was supposed to be included on the disc instead of Dance of Love but was sadly dropped at the last minute, apparently due to rights issues.
Too bad. It looks like we won't be having any chances to view that rarity.

We all wish we could see more, more, more of Andrea. Sorry I couldn't resist that.

Here's some screenshots from "The Seduction of Lyn Carter (1974) to give you an idea of the visual quality (not how attractive Andre True was).

I don't know anything about re-mastering, but it would seem to me that correcting that 'green tint' would not have been a huge (costly) technical problem and it would have done a lot to improve the visual quality of this DVD.

You'll find that ABA rarely, if ever, does any corrections on their releases. It's too bad as several of the films they've released will probably never get released by anyone else.

My interest in Andrea's music has made me interested in her porn career. I wouldn't mind seeing this movie. I've only seen one movie of hers.
Be sure to check out this video to see her other (and better-known) career. This is a true classic (no pun intended).

Robert, thanks a lot for the pics. The ABA release looks about the same as my tape so I doubt I'll be picking it up.
Myload, here are some good Andrea films to pick up:
My personal favorites are Both Ways (which, I found out from director Jerry Douglas, is cut on every VHS release), Every Inch a Lady, M*A*S*H*D, Christy (it's an outstanding and super weird one-day-wonder), Seduction of Lyn Carter, and Little Orphan Sammy (which is really stupid but fun none the less).

The disc for this from Gourmet is horrible though. Enjoyable film but I would wait on seeing it until someone else releases it.

The movie of Andrea's I saw was the "MASH" spoof (actually I think it was called "Smash'd" if memory serves correctly). I long time ago I found a videotape copy of it at a record store sidewalk sale. I saw her name on the credits and the tape was cheap, so I bought it. It's still the only VHS porn tape I ever bought.
John, are all those movies available on DVD?

Just as a little experiment, I ran the entire (84 min) video stream (from the DVD) through one of the video editors I use (PC program) and had the program do a simple automatic color correct. It took the program about 4 hours.
Here are the before and after screen shots taken from those two video streams. Judge for yourself how easy it would have been for ABA to improve the quality of the DVD release.

They are CHEAP beyond cheap. They offer bootleg quality for the same prices most companies sell remastered copies of their films.

I haven't seen any of the new Gourmet titles, are they all that bad?

From my experience, yes, they are rather horrible. Most I consider to be below the quality of Alpha Blue Archives. Some of the Alpha Blue Archives releases I have I consider the quality hard to watch. Some of the Gourmet titles I have the video quality in portions is unwatchable.

Despite protestations to contrary, I really don't think Alpha Blue give a damn about the quality of their releases. The Story of Joanna debacle left a particularly bitter taste with me.

That was the worst! Not only failing to mention that the print used was missing close to 15 minutes of footage but having 2 reels out of order!
I hear that their recent release of Femmes DeSade is a similar travesty.
If anyone's thinking of picking that up, DON'T! Go on xploitedcinema.com and buy the remastered PAL double feature of Femmes and Waterpower.

Knowing this information now, I don't think I'll buy any DVDs from this company.

I'm rather surprised by the quantity of films that ABA released and I didn't think anyone else would release that have been released by other companies.

Well, a lot of their titles are bootlegs. They have been sued a few times already. We do not buy any of their releases.

Hey Robert you have said and proved it all! The technology is there and relatively easy to totally clean up. re-colour, sharpen even slightly re-edit (not cut!)
so why not? No pride in their work ?
Hey, why not pick up the gauntlet and buy up those films and run them through yourself...could be a great business, I expect you have a few willing punters already!

The Seduction Of Lyn Carter,is a film that I have wanted to see for quit a
while now.Eventually I'll have to purchase the Andrea True Triple Feature.
This being an early Anthony Spinelli film and supposedly Andrea True's best
performance this is a film I really need to see.

I just recently watched Seduction Of Lyn Carter on the ABA triple feature. The quality is not too bad and quite watchable, although the image does start jumping around a bit towards the end. I'm not sure if that was a result of the film jumping around in the telecine or some sort of strange video jitter. Probably the latter. It's not too bad though.
I'm just wondering if this version is completely uncut. The running time is exactly 1:15:25 . iafd lists the running time as 84 minutes whereas imdb states 76 minutes (but they're always wrong anyway). I've never seen a version longer than around 75 minutes but should it really be 84 minutes? It does seem a little choppy during the group scene but some of Spinelli's editing is quite experimental anyway so it could well be intended that way.
This is certainly one of my favourite films by Spinelli, along with The Night Caller and Vista Valley PTA.
