I'm hoping someone might be able to suggest or recommend some specific DVD titles which might be generally along the lines of what I'm seeking.
What I'm looking for is a feature (a narrative, with plot, characterization, etc.) revolving around an ordinary, average couple (a mature couple in suburbia, for instance) who slowly and gradually begin to explore and expand their sexual horizons.
The story would simply follow their incremental, step-by-step evolution from "plain vanilla" sex to increasingly "edgier" stuff, simply in order to "spice up" their sex life together -- and do so in a realistically gradual way (meaning they start off somewhat tentatively, even nervously [but still enthusiastically], and move slowly and carefully).
The main characters' exploration might progress from a baseline of rather routine sex in bed with the lights off through a variety of increasingly "daring" (for them) stages; for example, maybe starting slowly with just some new positions and/or new locations around the house, to watching porn together, to trying anal for the first time, to experimenting with light bondage, to flashing (maybe she gets drunk at a wet t-shirt contest?), to public or at least "risky" sex (danger of getting caught), to skinnydipping with friends, to webcamming with other couples, to glory holes, to soft swapping, and finally to full swap swinging and orgies.
There would obviously be a lot of variety involved, and a sense of constant progression toward increasingly "hotter" activities (which they would mutually agree upon, even if nervously so). In keeping with the hoped-for sense of realism, all the performers would ideally look like "the couple next door," rather than buff supermodels or "porn star types" -- the better for viewers to identify with them. Given the nature of the plot, this aims for more of a sense of genuine reality and naturalness, rather than larger-than-life fantasies.
Do movies like this even exist?
The closest examples I've found are oldies like "Marriage and Other 4 Letter Words" (from the 1970s, and which I can't find on DVD), and a French film which I think was called "Sexual Initiation of a Married Woman" (also, I think, from the 1970s?).
I'd be grateful if anyone can point me toward anything available on DVD which might be at least close to the sort of thing I'm hoping to find. (Or maybe some enterprising producer might like to take a shot at something like this? If so, I'd be happy to write the script!)
