It was very interesting reading the discussion about Devils Films and the very perceptive observations some people made about the fact that their early impression was that Devils made inexpensive, adequate films until the last year or so when the percieved quality and production values has been much higher.

It seems (and I will very clearly point out that I don't speak for Devils Film and only know what I have been told and have picked up) that Mike Rubenstien - the owner of Devils Film - had made a lot of money for a while with the "basic" porn concept. Devils was doing well; business was good- but, Mike decided he wanted more.

He made a buiness decision to upgrade directing talent, lighting equipment, etc. and start to make that higher level porn. No wonder you hear people who only saw early Devils work make their points only to find them strongly contradicted by current Devils fans.

One of the people Mike recruited to the team was Mike Metropolis, who I first met on my shoot with Joey Silvera. For all of you serious Silvera fans, you should know that Mike worked for Joey for over 3 years and shot the camera for Joey's movies when Joey was in the scene. If you like Silvera, you will like Metropolis.

Something else that I noticed that Mike Metropolis and Joey Silvera have in common is the way they treat people. To this day I have never forgotten the scene I did for Joey. He was SO sweet, kind, and thoughtful. He treats people so well. I would tell a brand new girl to shoot their first scene with Joey - he will make them so comfortable. Ok, I will admit... I love Joey Silvera.

Well, Mike Metropolis is the same way (which tells me alot about Mike Rubenstein who I haven't spent much time with yet). Metro treats people so well. If Metro tells me something is going to happen - I will believe him.

I would encourage any people who haven't checked out Devils in the last year to do it. I am looking at several of their films and will bring you a Devils Film "Pick of the Week" soon.
