I'm sure some of you guys have sent money via PayPal for custom videos like me. Is it somehow bad etiquette to send via a linked checking account?
I've sent a bunch of PayPal payments before, from my PayPal wallet balance, linked credit cards, and linked checking accounts.
I just sent a model a payment from a linked checking account, and she was unhappy because I "sent a check."
Is this somehow bad etiquette, and I just did not know? I honestly didn't think people could tell if you send via linked credit card, checking account, or PayPal balance.

There is no fee if you use PayPal balance or linked bank account. There is a fee if you use credit/debit card. The recipient will see the fee (or absence of fee) in the transaction statement and thereby deduce the funding source. That said, I can't see why the model would be unhappy about your particular source of Paypal funding.

I think PayPal called it an "eCheck" when they sent it, so that is how they know.

eCheck takes longer to clear (compared to regular PayPal transaction) and has a risk of bouncing, like a normal check.
That is likely why the model was unhappy.
This link explains about it.

^That's why most models don't even accept Paypal, too many fraudulous chargebacks and if Paypal finds out you do adult they will freeze your account and funds.
