Hello there, name is Vernon and I'd like to ask a very important question to all of ya who are/were in the adult industry. I know by fact that many of you entered the adult industry because of financial issues. Now if you please rewind the tape and look back in time and assume that you didn't have a financial instability, you parent would've given you money to go to college so on and so forth. Now the question is would you have considered no to get into the adult industry?
Thank you very much for your time, V
ps. I'm proud of all of ya gals and guys in the industry, I believe you made many sacrificies and overcame many obstacules in your life, even some of you have a better ride than us lol. I wish I could know some of ya in person because your life intrigue me a lot. Thank you.
Most of the porn female stars interviews that I have read never mention financial issues as a reason. From what I have read, the only porn stars that directly stated they got into it because of financial issues were two men. I am sure there are more but that is what I have read.
I made more stable income before. I really don't think it's about the money for a lot of girls. It's an all out experience and a decision to do what you want. Don't get me wrong I love the money, but if i hit the lotto i would still want to do porn, but i would direct mostly and just cast myself with the people i wanted to fuck :)

I think vernon may be including Stripping into Adult Industry.
Girls get into Stripping for the money. They get into Porn for the Fun(Sex), The Fame, &/or Boyfriend/Husband's.
I think Zoid was just trying to be funny, but forgot the ().
I've heard too many girls say they got into STRIPPING for the money to even consider most do it because they like to dance. In fact I've heard a whole bunch say they weren't nervous to take their clothes off, but they were nervous to dance in front of people.
So, according to you stipping is done for money and cum swallowing/atms/daps/gagging/chocking/slapping/gang bangs and all other crazy shit which is known as modern PORN, that's all for good fun and enjoyable sex.
Fascinating.

Zoid,
I personally don't like the extreme hardcore stuff, but a lot of the PornChicks dig that stuff. Not only on film, but in their personal lives as well.
Also, I think Jewel's & Kami's comments are gonna be the norm. Money is rarely the reason for getting into Porn.
Money had pretty much nothing to do with my decision to do porn. I fell into it by accident, and was just blown away by the affirmation and attention. I would have (and still would) do it for free. Ever catch my webcam? Oh yeah, it's free - I just like to get naked and show off and listen to people tell me I'm hot and sexy and pretty.
Stripping I did do for money, it was the only job I could think of that I could do for a few hours a night (it had to be a night job) that would earn enough to support me while I was a full time student. I never liked dancing in clubs, although I did enjoy dancing and I did enjoy the attention. I just hate smokey, boozy, nasty dark bars full of guys who want you to let them do anything and everything to you for a buck. I don't like hustling drinks, either or any of the other baloney a house dancer has to put up with.
Escorting I like. Somewhere in between stripping and porn. I wouldn't do it without being paid (that would just be, like, dating - UGH!), but I can't think of anything else I'd rather be doing for money.
And I would expect no other response from the girls here. Of course they enjoy themselves. What pornstar will admit that she's doesn't really like a cock or two up the ass and does it only for the green. I mean what would we, pervs, think of her then?
But, honestly, I very glad if they indeed like it.
Soo.. suppose, I wan't to take a few pictures of you and maybe shoot a short solo video for non-commercial purposes. Is there a chance you'll do it for free? Coz I have no money.
Ask dumas! Seriously... No, I probably wouldn't agree to let you shoot a video of me and take pictures of me for your own purposes. Your individual purposes don't fit my attention/affirmation needs profile. I crave the attention of the masses - the glory, if you will. Your individual needs fall more into the lines of escorting services. Now, if Jewel were to say to me, "Kimi, you're a B level performer, but a lot of people like you, I'll give you a cameo in this video if you'll just show up." I'd do it (provided I was already in LA, cuz, I don't want to LOSE money flying out there to be in Jewel's video). On the other hand, if Hustler magazine contacted me and said, "Kimi, you're not really what we want to put in our magazine, but a lot of people like you, we'll give you a 2 page spread if you'll just show up." I would move heaven and earth to be there, no matter how much it cost me.
Sorry for confusion, but I didn't mean just for ME personally. I would make them available for the masses, on a my website for example..and let you have the copies for your own group/site. Still a no?
i post free pics at my site and im not selling anything there. i do intend to make a members site eventually but i took it down cause it wasnt worth the bother. i still maintain the free site though so yes.
Although I couldn't find any galleries on you site, it's nice to know you're at least willing. When I'll be anywhere near USA, I'll give you a call. Who knows? Maybe I'll be working for Hustler by that time.

But here she reveals the truth:
I never liked dancing in clubs, although I did enjoy dancing and I did enjoy the attention. I just hate smokey, boozy, nasty dark bars full of guys who want you to let them do anything and everything to you for a buck. [end of quote]
So,my dear girl, you claim you enjoy doing it for free, for the "attention" and the "affirmation";but when men offer to supply those things to you for only a "buck" you seem reluctant to accept them.I gather quite A LOT more bucks would be in order for you to get a real good feeling of that "affirmation."
Women are involved with porn for one reason only:MONEY
I happen to think that alot of the women in porn may have entered for the money. However, as we've seen here obviously not all woman in porn are solely money motivated. From the responses here, I'd say that it is similar to any other profession...some just have a passion for it! And I might add rather unscientifically that it appears that it is the same as many other professions in that those who truly excel at it are usually not merely there for the money!
Apparently you don't understand the difference between affirmation and attention and the degrading statement, "You're only worth a buck - and I don't even want to give that to you, but you should let me do anything I want to you.".
i ahte that to, i love dancing, but i feel like a beggar sometimes.

I like being on the side of the "Women of the ADT Forums" .
Jewel,
Those were some lucky people who received those free extras. They must have done a lot of good things in past lives to be so fortunate.
Also Jewel, Are you going to be at ECVS in Sept.?

It's time to stop this kind of childish, roundabout manner of speaking. You're a very beautiful woman and you have every right to seek the maximum profit possible for the use of your person in any manner that you desire without feeling a need to put a politically correct gloss on your motives to placate other people.
Don , are you a troll or just hell bent on seeing the world in shades of black and white . Your black and white .
I've written a few articles for local rags and received payment for them . But the main joy came from writing something that was considered worthy enough to be printed and posted through people's letterboxes . Why then should I have felt less happy when a larger paper paid me peanuts for a piece ? Could it have anything to do with what I imagined they thought of my work ? No . It's obviously because I'm a money grabbing hack .
Please learn to broaden your horizons . There's often more than one reason behind any decision . And just sometimes not even one . Your simplicity is bordering on being deliberate .
If I did porn for the money I'd be flat ass busted. I am a minor performer, B grade on a good day. I don't get thousands of dollars for a scene. I don't get 30 scenes a month. I have done a TOTAL of about 50 scenes in my 3+ years of doing porn. If you look at the titles, you'll see that a significant number of those titles are bj only scenes. Guess what my rate is for that? 150 - 400$ Yeah, that's all... If it was for the money, I would be getting a lot more money.
I was VERY honest in my statement regarding why I perform as a stripper, escort and in porn. Money tends to offset the things you dislike about a job, you can't pay me enough to go back to dancing in a bar - I dislike it that much. The ONLY reason I chose it was for the money. I didn't even know I'd like the attention when I decided to do it. I learned that, and I learned to find the attention elsewhere. Likewise, I never planned to go into porn. Not for money, not for attention, not for any reason. I got into the industry completely by accident, and was more than happy to be welcomed in. The attention and affirmation kept me coming back. Even though the pay was not amazing. I make quite a bit more now than I made doing porn. It was never about the money. I don't need to be PC, I am probably retired. I can offend anyone I want to, fans, prospective employers, other performers. I'm free - no pressure.
Don, That you obviously believe the only reason any woman would want to be in contact with a penis is for money says a great deal about what you think a penis is worth. I feel so bad for you.
while it may appear that Don an I share the same views, I have no doubt you're being honest (as well as the others here). But I am thinking about the bigger picture here. Thinking outside your own experience, do you think that the same motivation applies to the majority of porn starlets, keeping in mind that PORN isn't limited to the United States alone?
Hell, I don't know. I just find it extremely hard to believe that majority of girls wind up in porn seeking glory and fame. Maybe I do indeed see things in black in white.

I'm sure many women working in places like MCDonald's or Burger King would be rather suprised to learn that earning some 300 dollars for twenty minutes of work is considered working for peanuts.
Nonetheless,I'm willing to grant that what you're saying is genuine and you really do enjoy the work for the attention and affirmation you derive from performing. But these intangibles are often easily converted into real lasting benefits such as access to more lucrative offers of work, gaining the "attention" of important and influential men as mates or business partners, ect.
Women may not be consciously aware of the many ways in which they can benefit materially from pursuing what they believe are purely nonmaterial ends.I'm not saying this is true in your case but I do think it applies to the adult industry in general.
It is peanuts if it's the only scene you booked that week. You're better off working at McD's - not that I EVER had to, I've had nice paying nice jobs available since I began working. I imagine many of the women who choose porn and other sex industry jobs have other options, as well.Oh, thank you, it's nice to know that I have been granted the joy of not being considered a liar. Now that's a fantasy world you've got going there. For the dozen or so influential men that any average porn performer might meet, how many do you think are granting favors and status? Sure, even if each and every one of them picked one gal a year to dote on - gee, that's 12 out of, hmmm... about 600. Oh, but wait, I said the AVERAGE performer - back to zero! Yes, the porn STARS might be able to climb our twisted little corporate ladder, but the average performer, nope, it ain't gonna happen. Maybe as often as lightening strikes. Most secretaries don't become executives, either. As for outside of the industry, have you noted the polls that ask if men would be interested in dating or marrying active performers? Not many are. Assuming that any of us wanted a mate or partner in the first place (I don't!).Oh baloney, women know how to capitalize on any edge they have, and they've been doing it for millenia. If they choose to, fine, there's no reason I know of that says you can't feel good and make money, too. Most of the time, though, feeling good doesn't make you money, it just makes you happy.

Kimmi,I can see by your intelligent and articulate way of describing your feelings and experience that you're most likely an exception to the general pattern I believe does prevail in that lifestyle;for 95 percent of women, the only consideration for doing what they do is money(and/or the very closely related boon called 'fame').
Trust me,you wouldn't have the least difficulty finding a partner anywhere you so desire.Best wishes.

don juan,
The portion of your statement (and the highlight that I added) are your opinion, and that is fine. The problem that many of us are having is that so many of your posts don't come across as your opinion, but as irrefutable fact and the way things are, and that you are trying to educate the rest of us as to the way the world really turns.
Go ahead and state your opinions, but please don't state is as the facts.
So are we to assume the people who are the highest paid in their professions just do it for the money? Basketball players on average make far more money than porn stars, yet I don't hear anyone saying, "They(basketball players) are doing just for the money."
i'm just a horny bastard. lol actually i thought it would be fun and my best friend at the time fallon sommers was new to the biz and got a me a modeling job so i tried it out, i love being in front of the camera, so i totally was like "this rules!!" and it payed great too so hell i was lovin life, then i got the chance to be behind the camera a few times and do other things in the biz and still liked it the same..stopped vidz for a while..then my nymph like instincts started to poke at me again and...i'm back to play! :)
Kimi, Kami and Jewel: What do pornstars do in their free time? Do you have a lot of free time during the day? I was just curious. (Jewel, you've done some great scenes. I can't believe you're here responding. That's like a Senator answering personal questions online or something). Do Producers and Directors hit on porn stars a lot? (I often wonder if Hugh Hefner has ever hit on Jenna or Joanie Laurer). I'll never get to make it with a girl with porn star looks that's for sure.
