Hello to all.
I'm a long-time patron of ADVDT, and know that there are some very knowledgeable individuals here, as well as performers in the industry itself, and was hoping someone could help me.
I hope this is alright to post here, as I wasn't exactly sure where this could/should be posted, and this is one place I thought it might be great to ask.
After doing much research on the subject, and even having one very nice attorney give me information that he usually only gives to secured clients, the 2257 Compliance situation is still unclear to both my self and my wife, which is a serious issue, considering our plans to re-enter the world of online adult reviews, and possibly more.
So, here are my questions, for which we'd be *extremely* appreciative of any information regarding:
1) First and foremost, can someone "simplify" what the 2257 act actually requires? Is it simply some sort of physical proof of age of a performer, and that's it?
Are we talking like photocopying someone's license and having them sign a sheet of paper stating they are who/how old they say they are, that they agree to do what they're there to do, and that's it?
2) If you post *any* explicit material at all, do you (or your legal rep, if you so choose to go that route) actually have to have information on literally every performer from every film you review?
If so, what is the easiest (if you can even call it that) way to go about doing so?
There are two issues here: the first being that both my wife (and definitely my self) have been reviewing adult material since before the 2257 act, prior to which we had stopped due to personal time constraints. We now would like to get back into doing so, but since we would include actually images etc., we're forced to comply with 2257 requirements.
The second issue, is that we also used to shoot some true pro-am vids (I have pro equipment, but we have/use actual "real" people; i.e. no pros), again, before the 2257 act.
In understanding more about how simple or complicated it is to follow the guidelines of 2257 Compliance, we can perhaps pursue our endeavors again without having any problems.
The legal information given from Gov websites is only somewhat clear, but from my reading of it (over and over again), I'm feeling as if it's not totally clear.
Even my wife has her own blog, on which there is adult material (images etc.) that she's now concerned about, even just on a simple blog. Following the implementation of the 2257 Act, supposedly, she should be concerned, as any explicit material of people engaged in sexual activity, requires you to have personal records on them that include the information required by 2257 Compliance.
*sigh*... this all gives me a damn headache. I feel like I'm living in a communist society these days, it's ridiculous.
Well, anyway... we both greatly appreciate anyone, especially from the industry, but anyone in general, who can educate us a little further regarding this. For all the information we've accumulated over the last six months, we're still uncertain as to how to go about things and "what actually means what".
