Is there a way when using percentages to specify page layout to set a minimum so that if someone opens it in a small window it does not push eveything together?

You have to use to do this kind of thing.

Couldn't you, while still using percentages to do the general layout, specify e.g. "min-width: 800px;" on the body tag in the stylesheet?

I used it on a layout column once, to stop FireFox from shrinking it too much.

Thanks I will give it a try.

Still not up to yet. Especially after that whole menu fiasco.

I think I misunderstood the question.

My answer assumed that you wanted the browser window to resize to a minimum width dimension so that all content was visible.

No just something to prevent it from pushing everything into a 2 inch window.

Basically making them have to scroll to the right to see the whole page.

I think I understand what Lee is talking about, but I haven't a solution, sorry. It happens quite often, with varying browser sizes opening up, sometines depending on how large I had a previous application minimized to.

"min-width: 800px;" on the body element does that for me.
I haven't tested it with Explorer, though.
