I remember before I started renting or buying porn I rented movies at Blockbuster/Hollywood Video that contained sex scenes. I could never really find much though because it seems to be so well hidden and untalked about. I was wondering if anyone here ever went through a similar phase of looking for softcore porn in a mainstream movie rental place?
I have a few questions about it.
1. What are some of your favorite mainstream sex scenes/films that can be rented at most local rental stores like Blockbuster Video?
2. What's the most hardcore mainstream sex film you've ever seen in a local rental store?
3. How far do you think a film can go before it becomes porn or gets pulled out of a mainstream movie theatre or rental shop?
4. Can you still even get off or highly aroused from a mainstream sex scene? Does it even do anything for you anymore?
Thanks for the feedback. I just got back from the rental shop and was looking for some hidden porn gems. I have an unlimited rental pass there so can rent whatever. If you got any recommendation, please share them. What section is more likely to have the most hidden porn in it? The drama or horror section?
I think that Blockbuster is the wrong place to be looking for what you are seeking. Don't they refusr to stock unrated versions, or anything more adult than R-rated titles?

In the early 90's I worked in a mainstream vid store and rented a few Zalman King movies. The two that stand out the most for me are Wild Orchid and Two Moon Junction. Both were crap movies, but the sex scenes were hot.
Another I particularly liked was Adrian Lyne's remake of Lolita, starring Jeremy Irons and Dominique Swain. Holy shit, those scenes are crazy sexy, in a perverted, delightful way.
And don't forget the unfinished foreplay scene in "The Big Easy." Whew!

Don't much care for the movie (I think it is wildly overrated), but A History Of Violence has a couple of surprisingly graphic and hot sex scenes. One with Maria Bello in a cheerleader outfit, and another involving rough sex on a staircase.
+1 works great on VCR slow mo. Even greater on DVD slow.
To The Original Question: You put your finger right on it. Blockbuster!! Always has sucked when it comes to anything dealing with sex. But that can be changing now with for instance R-Rated Pirates being offered.
Some offerings from my memory: 1. "Dressed To Kill"(1980) - Angie Dickinson getting boned during the opening. 2. "Fast-Walking"(1982) - Kay Lenz giving a 'whimpering' James Woods a bj. (She had just threatened to kill him but stopped because he had a big wiener stating it was the only good thing about him!) 3. "Hardcore"(1979) - Season Hubley. 4. "Vice Squad"(1982) - Season Hubley. 5. "Dona Flor & Her Two Husbands"(1977) - Sonia Braga 6. "Gabrielle"(1983) - Sonia Braga 7. "The Piano"(1993) - Holly Hunter & Harvey Keitel. (Talk about Method Acting. Those two looked like they were really fucking. More so than Christie & Sutherland. But the director of this, Jane Campion, has lost her touch tremendously. Her recent "In The Cut" sucked.)

For the sake of completeness I'll mention that Lars Von Trier's 'The Idiots' includes a real sex scene (group sex, in fact). But I wouldn't particularly recommend it.
Bound and Mulholland Falls are fine but the best mainstream lesbian scene I've ever witnessed is Anne Heche and Joan Chen in the unrated Wildside. That scene with them in bed never fails me. Anne also has a couple pretty other good sex scenes in it too.
