This is a great topic that porn producers need to address. One of the biggest turnoffs in porn is watching these very uncomfortable positions that I guess they think are good because they show so much but everything is backward fucking. You want the fantasy of what it would be like to be doing this and what it would feel like this reverse cowgirl crap and all of the others like it are no fun at all and turn me completely off. Give me variants on missionary any day where the performers actually look at each other and maybe even kiss instead of putting their arms next to the guy's head and looking away. It is clear they are not into the guy in any way. I find myself watching more European porn which is a little better but most American porn is horrible I could and have made better porn at home!

I think sex as a participant and sex as a viewer are different things. As a participant I think comfort is key, but the most comfortable position may not be the best view for someone who is watching. Nina Hartley was once asked where she most preferred to have sex and she said "In a bed. That's usually more comfortable." That makes perfect sense, but would get a little boring for us spectators after a while, hence the different place and positions.
