The picture of Eunice Kennedy Shriver to the right of the article almost made me swear off sex forever.

please change the thread title, as it is inaccurate and misleading.
'most desirable' means it's most preferred/most convenient.
this is because society is much more busy nowadays. everything needs to happen faster. more efficiently.
which sucks.
at least double that time is a minimum for me.

i meant, of course, that the article title is also misleading. but you shouldn't encourage bad writing

Yeah, 'cuz I was going to say, "Speak for yourself." My most memorable good times have been longer than 13 minutes.

It depends on the situation and how satisfied you are with your sex life. If those 13 minutes makes up your monthly sex experience, fuck that...

This article is too short and too funny not to be reproduced in full:
For some reason, I initially read the last bit as "The findings are published in The Journal of Sexual Mediocrity."
Anyway, I think insemination to the public would better change their expectations of getting laid and would also be more preventative of distress.

You know, that tells me that I wouldn't want to get my sex advice from those sex therapists. They are misinformed. They are out of their tree!

Dang... why all the hating on the quickies? I am totally down with this. I really don't like sex that goes on and on and on and on. I just get sore and aggravated and want to quit. If I'm going to have an orgasm, it's usually going to happen in less than 5 minutes or it's not going to happen.
I would rather have 5 ten minute quickies in one day than 1 hour long bang-a-thon. I'd have more orgasms, more fun, and less pain.

No hating. I just think these particular therapists sound like goofs.
Make mine 3 ten-minute quickies and a 1/2 hour bang-a-thon. Then I'd be good to go.
.
Only thing is, I don't think those sex therapists have either of our ideals in mind.

definitely no hating on quickies, i was just pointing out that the title suggests that quickies are 'best', but the article means 'best suited'.

I guess this is purely about bang time. I probably will be accused of sounding fem , but the lead up , anticipation , and things like eye contact are part of the connection as well even for men.
But as male it can be confusing regarding the banging part. I think most conscientious guys believe quickly unloading or being premature is the worst sin of all, so I have ran a few marathons in the past. But another apart of me thinks a woman wants the guy to rip her panties off sometimes , and not waste a second , it is not always an easy read for a guy to make.
