I think if a man has previously had sama-sex sexual relations, he has a responsibility to inform women he may have sexual relations with of this. As a woman may not wish to have sex with a man who's had sex with other men; which is her right, without having to justify why.

If we accept that, why shouldn't it also apply to women?

The Twins recap The Bachelor: ... Brooke's secret

Note: Nick is The Bachelor

"Brooke is ready to tell her secret. She says she's "really worried about what Nick might think of me," and it "might change Nick's perception of me".

We think it might be that she keeps bodies in barrels in her backyard ...

She sits with Nick and looks nervous as she talks about her past relationships. "It's something big and it's something you should know,""

"Brooke has dated women before and given she is now sexually owned by Nick, he is entitled to this information and her commitment to not only him, but his entire gender."

I remember laughing along with this at the time. But then i thought, if - yes, if - a woman has a right to know if a man has had same-sex sexual relations, why shouldn't a man?

And in such a discussion we need to reference the August Ames tragedy. A woman literally hounded to death for saying she did not want to have sex with men who have sex with other men.

How a harrowing 24 hours ended with porn actress August Ames taking her own life.

"Still the death threats, and threats of violence continued. People suggested she should suicide. Others said gay men undergo the same tests as all porn stars, and accused her of discrimination. All forgetting that [even] adult actors are entitled to bodily autonomy".

I fully accept someone's choice not to sleep with someone else for whatever reason, however they want to justify it or not. That said, I think that such blanket personal policies---especially when coupled with an inability to articulate why, even for oneself---often betray a lack of self reflection or self awareness.

I'll add that, I think people who harass others (eg the awful August Ames situation) also betray a lack of self awareness and self reflection.
