ChodeMasterJ Perpetual Marxist 5405 Posts 4/03	Posted - Feb 24 2009 : 12:13AM final cut express should be enough to do most editing. the final cut pro/studio or whatever it's called is the top of the line shit. a lot of that would probably be overkill if you were just wanting to do intermediate level editing or something and not make a supergood hollywood movie. a lot of that stuff in the pro/studio you probably wouldn't ever use. that's just my opinion on it though. It seems that typically the mid to higher budget stuff and most movies utilize Avid (Media Composer, Symphony, etc.) while large portion of the lower budget stuff in done with Final Cut. This, of course, isn't hard and fast, but from my experience, it holds true most of the time. I'm sure you could get away with the Express, but it will most likely lack some of the bells and whistles that might make certain things easier. [Link]
ChodeMasterJ Perpetual Marxist 5405 Posts 4/03	Posted - Feb 24 2009 : 5:29AM hmm...thanks for the explanation. i know you've got some know how in the hollywood stuff. if you could utilize the top version of final cut and use all of the bells and whistles, then that would be best for creating an optimum product. if you're just looking to do basic editing with not too complicated effects and want something that's a little better than iMovie, then then the cheaper version would be good. if you know how to use the top version of final cut then that would be best and you would make a better product. if, like me, don't know what youre doing with all of that stuff, then the cheaper version would be better. I guess it all depends on what you wanna make and how much you wanna spend. has anyone used Photoshop Elements for anything? i'm thinking of getting it since it's kinda a Photoshop-Lite that's aimed more towards novices. Just curious since we're talking programs. (Sorry if i hijacked your thread, A). <3 [Link]
