first let me say i am a fan of Shawna Lenee. i think she is really, really hot normally i never listen to the Opie & Anthony show but i tuned in Friday because she was going on to promote her new Penthouse cover during the show the hosts put her hardcore pics & vids on the monitors. she became really upset and walked out. however the mic was still on and picked up her conversation with the Penthouse publicist. you can hear her crying and saying she is "done with everyone," and wanted to pull out of the signing event she was supposed to go to Opie & Anthony first try to bring her back, then they just make fun of her for the rest of the hour what do u think about it? i know Shawna has a history of emotional problems, and i know shock jock radio is all about being a jerk, but i still felt sorry for her. I'm only half way through the clip, but I think I've hit the high points. Those guys are about as subtle as a sledgehammer. There are several ways of saying the same thing. These guys chose the most crude, basal, and rather demeaning way they could for just about everything. I don't know who's who, but they guy that kept saying things like "It's only a big black ball bag in her mouth..." is just offensive. Even the guy that who played the apologist was awful. They laughed at her and really treated her like dirt. They all came off as misogynists. Why did she have a great time on The Howard Stern Show? Because none of the guys there treat women like this group did. Artie gets out of hand sometimes, but he normally gets dialed back by the crew, or himself. The fact that they kept the back stage mic rolling for so long and then transitioned into yelling "boo hoo! boo hoo!" and making fun of her, just illustrates that they have no class and no integrity. I heard the portion of the show when she lost her mind live yesterday and again today on the replay. Shawna Lenee is fucking insane. Immediately after pleasantly discussing a Brazzers scene that she did, while it played on a studio monitor, she lost her mind over seeing a photo from another scene that she did. One of the things that she said that she was mad at them about what that they called her "cute". How terrible of them. He argued that she was there to promote Penthouse. Not talk about her porn career. Did she really think that they were going to interview her solely about the fact that she's on the cover of Penthouse this month? Host: "Hey, I see that you are on the cover of Penthouse this month." Shawna: "Yes. I am." Host: "Well, thanks for stopping in to see us. Make sure that you stop by and tell us about the next magazine cover that you're on." My opinion of her after hearing her being interviewed and talking with the publicist after the fact is that she's a fucking idiot and I would have no problem saying that to her face. I can't imagine ever watching a scene that she's in, ever again because, rather than think about how hot she is, I would just remember how stupid she is.
^ I didn't hear the Howard Stern appearance. You're quoting someone who paraphrases the show (Mark's Friggin web site), but I'm sure it's accurate in content, if not the exact wording and delivery. As I said, Artie gets a little out of hand and seems to have a misogynistic streak himself. Apparently the overall environment, or Artie's delivery didn't get to her. Maybe he said it in a funny kind of way? Maybe the rest of the environment was friendly and allowed her to shrug it off? The environment that I heard on O&A just seemed blunt and more like they were there to make fun of and "use" the girls in any way they could, rather than getting an interesting interview, having fun *with* her, and that kind of thing. The way they demanded for them to take their tops off, and then pressed the recreation of some scene from The Kentucky Fried movie with boobs pressed on glass making balloon sounds... It wasn't funny. It was semi-creepy and I felt bad for both girls. Bill, we've gone back and forth (in a friendly way) several times about Howard Stern versus O&A. I know you no longer like Stern and you are a fan of O&A. This is honestly the first time I've heard O&A, and it doesn't make me want to go back for more. They flat out suck in my opinion. Call me a Howard Stern fan boy if you want, but I far prefer the "tone" of his show. So we both have our biases out in the open. For the record, I think she over reacted a bit. But I can understand why it upset her quite easily. Could a much stronger person have smiled and gotten through it? Sure, but that doesn't mean she deserved that kind of treatment. wow what complete ripoffs are Opie and Anthony are they unable to come up with a original idea on their own...Liquid Ass are you kidding me..You would think atleast they would give Bubba The Love Sponge credit for the bit they stole...The guys are hacks and just show it in this clip
The first time that they ever did anything with Liquid Ass was when Liquid Ass started advertising on their show. Then they did a lot of things with it for about a week. Subsequently, someone called in and said that Bubba had been doing things with Liquid Ass for a while. They rarely do anything with it anymore.
A MAJOR part of the blame might have to go to the publicist. The #1 job of ANY publicist is to protect the image and interests of the client. That means screening the content and character of any type of media (radio, TV, print, Internet, etc.) in ADVANCE. Who are the hosts? What is the tone/tenor of their previous interviews? Can/will Shawnee excel in this type of environment? The publicist should have known the extra crude nature of the hosts and that they often go to extremes. After all, Opie & Anthony were the tools that got fired from terrestrial radio for broadcasting a sex prank inside a church. They don't have boundaries, and certainly, weren't going to show any toward Shawna. Now, if Shawna went on the show AGAINST her publicist's advice, then that's another story. But certainly, I'd hoped the publicist did her due diligence.

The publicist DID do the due diligence and this was discussed after the breakdown. She is briefed on each show and what to expect before she appears. As people have said, O&A are O&A. They were actually pretty reserved up until the pics went up and she started freaking out, thought she was teetering throughout the interview. The problem in this scenario lies with Kara Minor/Kara Bare/Shawna Lenee. Changing your porn name does not erase your past and if you think it does you should consider a new career. The other girl with her expressed no problems with O&A whatsoever. I found the episode uncomfortable to listen to, but I think she deserves whatever credit or blame is to be bestowed for the final result. Fanboi fallout is funnier to me than the original incident.
You're making an assumption that they had any knowledge whatever bit Bubba does with Liquid Ass when they started doing things with it. I don't think that's a valid assumption. They're pretty good about giving credit for any bits that they "steal". They love playing what they call "the bleep game", which they admittedly lifted from Jimmy Kimmel (which I think he calls "Unnecessary Censorship").
^I'd say I'm far from a Shawna fanboy or apologist. However, from professional experience, I know that when "celebs" have on-air meltdowns or other types of embarrassments, these can often be avoided with publicist intervention. For example, all those politicians that used to get punked on "The Ali G. Show." That sort of stuff is avoidable. Even in lieu of due diligence of the actual programming, as a publicist, you just have to always know your client's physical/emotional state of mind. Did she party too much the night before? Is it that time of month? Are her emotions fully in check? Is she having text message arguments with her BFF? That's why publicists are "handlers" just as much as publicists. There's a lot of pre-emptive babysitting involved. But again, there are definitely two sides to meltdowns. Ultimately, it's just possible that Shawna's not ready to do the quantity and quality (higher profile) appearances that a Penthouse cover campaign requires.

Hey Bill O&A are rip offs and you know it..Realy they should just come out and say for anyone who doesnt get Howard Stern, Bubba, Bob&Tom, and JonBoy&Billy come listen to us cause we play all their best bits. The guys are Hacks Now Shawna did screw up in the interview by allowing them to get to her soon as they smelled blood they went in for the kill..As for the publicist she screwed being time by allowing the breakdown in the hallway to go over the air..The publicist allowed a bad situation to get worse for her client Shawna and Penthouse Magazine...I do believe a job of a publicist is to look out for the best interest of her client..I would wager to bet Lennie will have some explaining to do to Marc Bell over the whole mess
Read the recap of Shawna's appearance on the Stern show the previous day. After that appearance, why would the publicist have any reason to believe that Shawna would melt down on Opie & Anthony's show the next day?
Actually, I don't know it. I listened to Stern for nearly 20 years. I started listening to O&A when they came to NY afternoon radio in the late 90's. When it came time to make a choice between Stern and O&A, I had to go with O&A. A big reason was because their show is not about playing "bits".

Even before we went on air.. (Excuse me for not knowing the names of people who work there).. A guy was TELLING me & Taya what to do. They were treating us like puppets. We wouldn't even do what they wanted, which probably pissed them off to begin with. I feel from the very beginning that they were mis-representing us. They were making fun of how young I look, me doing interracial films (I will say they ARE racist), making me feel like a whore, and were not letting me be Shawna Lenee! I also was being denied the chance to say what I needed to say, as they were cutting out mine and Taya's mics. I really wanted to send an awareness about a situation I had went through, and they didn't even care. Instead of letting me tell people I do have a safety issue, they made fun of the situation I went through at a gas station in LA with a random guy trying to jump in my car and then who knows what. There are two sides to this story, and you can't tell mine through the radio because we were not an air yet. I was excited to be on their show and have fun. I walked in the studio SKIPPING, saying YAY we have an audience. But the repeated bashing got on my nerves. I never listened to O&A. My publicist did NOT tell me what type of show it was, therefore I wasn't mentally prepared for their bullshit. I feel like they were smacking me in the face with their insults. I did not expect them to act like womanizers, I thought they were going to be cool people. They turned out to not be cool people. Yes, I shouldn't have cried so much.. But what you guys don't know is.. That when I said FUCK YOU, and walked off... They wouldn't leave me alone. They were egging me on, even before they brought the mic in to INVADE my privacy. They wouldn't get the camera out of my face and kept repeating that I do porn, I do porn. Yes, I do porn.. But I am NOT ashamed. However, they apparently do not like porn stars, and think we are pieces of dirt. Call ME crazy as the next guy, but I want to go on the radio and talk about... Important things. You were being recorded by the microphone that was it the room with the crowd of listeners outside the studio. So, whereever you went, it wasn't private enough that it couldn't be heard by the crowd. Nobody went and hid a microphone in the room to listen to you. You have no standing in complaining about being recorded. Unless they changed their protocol, you signed a release stating that you were aware that you were being recorded for the air before you ever went into the studio. Lanie, on the other hand, might have a valid complaint. They used to have everyone who entered the station sign a release before they were allowed in (whether they were there to be on the air or not). I don't know if they do that anymore. Well last time she was on Stern (October 2008), I heard from some reliable sources that she was seen outside crying... I'm not sure why but maybe it's because Daisy Marie won the stern/penthouse pet competition... Is this too much to handle for Shawna? All of the other pets were cool, but Shawna even refused to take pics with some guys that were there... Daisy and the rest of the girls were cool with it... Thank you for that. It was illegal to broadcast because my publicist did not have a release. Therefore, there was NO way I would have known it was recorded. There was NOT a mic in the room to my knowledge, and since they did not play the clip in the re-play- it just shows that they knew it was not legal to do.

No. Editing the replay was a SiriusXM call. Not an O&A call. Based on a Twitter message that he left yesterday, he was pissed that yesterday's replay was being edited. [ invalid url ], it appears that the SiriusXM lawyers must have decided that there was nothing wrong with the original show, because they are airing the unedited version during the weekend replays.
Does the fact that it can't be "un-done" (due to being on the internet, etc.) increase the civil liability for the station / show? It might establish a case for greater damages. Either way, this incident just furthers my dislike for these guys and their apparent ratings-at-all-costs approach. Edit: Looks like my point about being "un-done" is a moot one, if they're replaying w/o editing again...

I think this is all a ruse to get her name on the internet and get attention for her spread.
