I will probably add nothing to this conversation at this point but...whoa, this thread took a definite odd turn. I was not expecting it to turn into a discussion over the rights and ethical issues related to an adult film star choosing not to do anal.

Shylock is right that Shawnie will have to do anal eventually if she wants to stay in the business, and he knows this probably better than anybody. This has been discussed many, many times. The only real alternative for her, if she wants to stay in porn, would be to sign a contract with Vivid or maybe JKP. However, if she manages her career right, she can put off doing anal for quite a while and still work in Gonzo porn. With her body, I would imagine, for instance, that she could make a lot of money stripping if that was something she wanted to do. And if she did that, and then mixed porn in occasionally and didn't do all that many scenes at one time, she could probably hold off on the whole anal thing. But personally, I would rather see her take it up the ass as soon as possible.
I don't have any problem with the idea that pornstars take it up the ass for more money or to lengthen their careers. And if they don't want to do it, I have no problem with them disappearing when nobody wants to hire them any more. As a fan, I vote with my wallet and I have a very limited tolerance for non-anal scenes. Every now and then, it's nice to see a new girl, especially if she's really pretty, and in those limited circumstances, I'm okay with it being a non-anal scene. I know this sounds bad, but I really don't care if they like it or not. I'm more concerned with how they come across on screen and whether they give a good performance. My assumption has always been that most porn chicks are at best ambivalent about taking it up the ass and are doing it because the money's better and/or they wouldn't get hired otherwise. Of course, I'm sure there are exceptions to that. Ariana seems to really like it in the ass, and so does Taylor Rain. Yes, I've always been curious what the paychecks are like for these first-time anal scenes. I would imagine that if $10,000 is her price, it will be a long time before anybody pays it. I think Bridgette Kerkove for a long time was making something in the range of $1700 per anal scene and my guess is that this is the standard ballpark figure. If that's true, I can see paying something like $3000 for a typical first time anal scene from an average girl, and maybe $5000 or even a little more for someone special like Shawnie, but to shell out $10,000 and then risk her going out and shooting four or five more anal scenes that might actually come out before mine did would just be too much.
I started another thread that has seemed to run its course that applies here. The thread was about Roxy Jezel's first anal scene in "Breakin' Em In #5" and how during the credits Vince Vouyer flaunts how he outbid Anabolic to get her first anal.
In that situation, a new girl like Roxy made $2000 for her first anal whereas Anabolic was offering her $1200. I have to agree, I think Roxy would have been worth more than that for her first anal scene. The thing with asian girls is that there's a widespread fetish for them and lots of demand, but since they are a minority, there will never be that many of them, so a really hot asian chick naturally has more bargaining power and can probably hold out on the anal thing for a lot longer, if not indefinitely. Even though the industry people don't comment on performer pay as a general rule, numbers like this occasionally come out and it's a bit shocking how little these girls make for doing porn, even the hot ones like Roxy. I really wish I knew more about what girls were making, if only to satisfy my own curiosity. But the numbers I've seen reinforce my general belief that it really isn't worth it to do porn unless you are committed and willing to go all the way and do anal and so forth. I used to think that the smart thing for a girl to do was to sort of climb the ladder in porn with solo, then g/g, then b/g, IR, anal, etc. But now, I'm more of the opinion that if she isn't willing to do anal, dp, etc., she really shouldn't go in it at all. It's fine to hold out for a few scenes, but the fact is that there are so many hot chicks in eastern europe that do just about anything, and now you have all these girls from western europe coming to LA to shoot, and they're also up for just about anything, and then you have hot american chicks like Brianna Blaze and April that are willing to take it up the ass as well, it just seems like the employment prospects have to be getting pretty limited for a girl that isn't willing to at least take it in the ass. In another thread, Mike Quasar mentioned that Zero Tolerance is going to be spending more and more time shooting in overseas locations. I think girls these days are better off jumping in all the way, but then managing their career so as to maximize their earning potential.
