Hey everyone!

This forum has helped me a lot already by providing URL's of online shops I didn't know so far! But the big problem I have is, that I - like most people in Germany - have no credit card! So, if you know any shops that accept paypal and you had perhaps good experiences with them before, it would be cool if you could post the URL's!

The other problem is, that I live in Germany (there's already another thread about the problem with German custums). So, if you know a US Shop, which accepts paypal and where you already ordered safely before to Germany - that would be the cream of the crop of course ;-)

Shops in Europe are also ok, of course (because most of them have the option of direct debit or even accept direct debit cards like Maestro) - but let's face it, the range of US DVD's they offer is always crap! xodvds is pretty nice though, but they also don't have the newest releases I want!

OK, I hope anyone can help me!

I suspect many online shops will insist on Credit Card payment, to help ensure that the customer is over 18. I'm not sure if PayPal accounts imply the owner is over 18 - when I opened mine, I'm fairly sure I needed a CC as part of the signing up process. How did you get a PayPal account without having a CC? Is there any particular reason why you don't have a CC?

Well, but there are shops who accept paypal (e.g. excaliburfilms do) but some of them don't seem to be able to deliver securely to Germany (like excaliburfilms ;-))

And well, why don't I have a CC? At first CC's are not common in Germany! If you're from the US or from the UK and come to Germany, expecting that you can pay with your CC everywhere, like you're used to at home - you have a problem! 95% of the shops in Germany don't accept credit cards, so there is no reason for me to get one - I wouldn't get a CC just to order porn online ;-) The other reason why I don't have one is, that I don't have the money! I'm only a university student - I can't afford it, and I don't have a real monthly income that a CC company would accept anywayz.

So, you see my dilemma? ;-)

Oh and btw, thanks for the hint with erodvd.nl - but I don't think they're really good! At least not for US DVD's. Very few US Studios, and e.g. only some original Evil Empire DVD's - the rest is that Shiva crap without extras!

PS: Oh - how I got a paypal account without a CC... Well you can also upload money from your bank account to paypal (they have an account in Germany where you can transfer your money to). The only thing is that you have an "unverified account" then - you need a CC if you want a verified one! Well, but I never had problems to pay with my unverfified account so far!

Have a look at Orgazmik (but don't tell me they are expensive - I know already!!!) - from their FAQ they will accept Paypal or pre-payment to a bank account. Why not try emailing them - they are usually very helpful (and even post here sometimes!)? I've found their shipping extremely discreet and reliable in the past, though secure? I don't know. They are one of the few European suppliers with a good load of US titles.

Maniac,

I am from Germany as well and to say that 95% of shops in Germany do not accept credit cards is absolutely not correct. I don ot know where exactly you live and what type of shop you usually go to but I would say that at least 70% of shops accept at least one credit card. You should also mention that we have debit cards (Maestro) which is very widely accepted for cashless payments.

Now, as far as PayPal is concerned it will be more difficult each day to find a shop selling porn online which accept PayPal as PayPal belongs to Ebay and is actively cancelling contracts with shops selling porn. They do not want to beassociated with porn anymore. Therefore my favourite shop. dvddiscount.tv has recently had to stop accepting PayPal. Nevertheless I would recommend them as one of the best shops for people like us as they are in the Netherlands and you will have no problem with customs therefore. Please also try AdultDVDToday.com if you should get yourself a credit card. They are cheap, quick and use a shipping method which will most likely not be intercepted by customs.

Thanks again to everyone for all the hints! But sadly it looks like I already know all shops ;-)

@Gabriel Nine: Well, I visited the Orgazmik Homepage again and I was surprised! They massively increased their stock again, during the last few months it was not that big! And their prices... well, for European shops they're not that expensive ;-) They still don't have the particular DVD I'm looking for - they are not the fastest when it comes to new titles! But I already mailed with them a month ago or so, they are pretty cool and they do accept paypal, yes! Maybe I'll try them out!

@brasilfan: Well, what I wanted to say is, that you can't go everywhere and pay with your CC. I mean, e.g. no supermarket in my region accepts CC's afaik - only EC-Card! And well - of course almost every shop (except Aldi & - most important - McDonald's *geez*) accepts debit cards... But why doesn't anyone in the internet (except xodvds.com)? I hope more European shops will in the future. The two shops you mentioned won't help me much though - cause like I said, I don't have a CC and also can't afford one. But thanxx anywayz!

maniac481: I'm not sure I understand why you say "I cannot afford a credit card"? A CC is just a form of payment, it doesn't (*) incur any costs by itself. You just use it then pay off the amount you spent with it. If you're prepared to spend money using PayPal or another form, then that same money could be spent via a credit card - it's the same.

(*) Some charge a small annual fee, but many don't (at least in the UK).

Well, you're right - a VISA card would cost me 20€ a year! But, as it's a credit card ... well, you get credit and you have to pay interests! OK, I don't know the interest rates atm, but they're not that low, I think. Anywayz, if they give you a credit, you have to tell them your monthly income - and I don't have some! I'm only a student who lives of money from his parents! So they would never give me a CC anywayz!

And, as I said before - I would never get a CC only to buy porn at the internet ;-)

Ahh, OK - in the UK, I can get a credit card without showing monthly income (I think..) and there is no annual fee. And I don't pay any interest since I pay the bill off every month. So for me it really costs nothing. Maybe this is why us Brits are the best in Europe at racking up lots of debt

I can see why you're looking for alternatives in your situation - good luck finding sites that take PayPal etc!
