Claire Robbins, Katie St Ives, Wendy James, and Emily DaVinci would be the best examples to illustrate what I'm looking for.  Claire Robbins  Katie St. Ives  Wendy James  Emily DaVinci I'm not too interested in really short/shaved myself (although Belladonna always looked good with it).
