| Fingerbangger Member 164 Posts 3/07 | I was on a set yesterday and the male talent could not stay hard, had a tough time in certain positions because of his knee, he kept stopping in the middle of a good shot. The director was very frustrated and just could not get the shots he wanted. The guy finally poped after 20 min of jacking off. At the end of the day he got paid in full. Should these guys get paid if they are not doing a good job? The director now has to put a shitty scene in his movie unless he wants to spend another $3000.00 or so to reshoot. [Link] |

| LadyB Black and Blue, USA 161 Posts 2/05 | Too many young guys are coming into the business that think it's all about popping a pill, and then they can't perform on time and as directed, and they still want to charge the same prices as the tried and true guys that can get wood and shoot on command everytime, with no chemicals needed. The truth is that Viagra may get you hard and keep you hard, but most of the time, it means a very long, crappy performance that ends with the guy having to pull out and work for way too long to actually shoot off. I've watched sex scenes where the guy with the dam pill is pissing off the two or three veteran swordsmen that do it all naturally, and the chick that's laying there waiting for the money shot, because he can't get his Viagra erection to cum. Unfortunately, some of these guys will only learn if directors will stop paying them if they don't finish the job they were hired for in the way they were expected. I like porn addict's way of handling it. But I hope you also give him a talking to about how this is not a responsible action as an employee in adult. :) The same goes for women in porn. There are girls that will show up sick, drunk, drugged or just plain not into it and turn in the worst time consuming non-performances. They shouldn't be paid full rate either. If she can't show up ready to do a scene as a responsible employee for the day, then the least she can do is give the production company a price break, or offer to come back and do a scene for free, or at discount later. | BigBobxxx Senior Member 2681 Posts 5/04 | After discounting for bad performances, why should the porn consumer still pay full price when said bad performances are sold in the marketplace? And, yes, I do understand that the producer sometimes has to eat the whole thing with the absolutely unusable stuff. Edited by - hardware on 5/29/2007 11:40:18 AM |

While I agree no professional would leave his fee once he has been signed it goes without saying that he needs to slog his butt off till the director is satisfied. If a performer cannot deliver the goods then they certainly deserve another chance and are not made pariah dogs and stoned out of the industry...But the performer also needs to understand that it is more important to deliver especially after they have failed to deliver once...to satisfaction rather than expect full payments the next time around.. |
| LCF All-Star Member Non Prevalebunt! 10364 Posts 1/05 | Will you pay a tailor who gives you wrong clothes? Will you pay a barber who trembles because he's drunk? Will you pay for a wrong haircut? if you are scheduled to perform the very least you must do is to stay sober and don't fuck the day before the shooting better if you stay sober and don't fuck 2 or 3 days before. If you get sick and have a fever you might be excused , but if you get drugged ot drunk or fucked all night long and cannot perform , then you must pay for this |
| leglover1000 Member 177 Posts 3/07 | What is the best way for a newbie to train to cum on command? Basically what are some the things a newbie can do to prepare for a life in porn? Some potential studs out there who never performed, claim to cum on command during sex(with their girlfriends) or masturbation rituals but what things can he do to prepare for interruptions and many people watching them perform? What is the least amount of time a performer is given to cum? Is it five, ten minutes into a scene? Lastly how long are the average scenes? Devinn, would you consider producing and directing handjob and mutual masturbation videos? |

First off, I want to preface by saying that I'm not part of the commercial LA porn scene. I do my little thing over here on the East coast and mainly deal with first timers and no-name talent (female and male). I'm sure the way it's done over there is different, but one of the advantages of owning your own little operation is that you can make the rules and those that want to play by them are more than welcome and those that aren't... need not apply. Now, with that being said. Let's take a couple situations that either could/have or did arise. Whether it's right or wrong is a matter of opinion but to me, the female is the star of the show. In my experience, people who join my site do so to see the girls perform (usually their first scenes). It is to be expected that the average "real" girl next door is not your standard LA porn chick who can takes multiple cocks up her ass and swear so much that truck driver's blush. These girls may be submissive and just let the talent fuck her... or maybe we have to coach her along while she's either sucking or fucking. That's part of the charm with amateurs. So, in my head... as long as their providing a warm hole to fill, they're doing their job and should be paid. Now, guys on the other hand. If they can't perform, the scene is thrown away. There's no salvaging it. Who wants to listen to a guy rattle off excuses as to why he can't cum or worse off... watch him furiously pump a limp noodle. So I rationalize as the male didn't do his job and therefore, should not be paid. I could sit here and offer up many analogies but hopefully you get the point. I also want to finish off by saying that with me, it's not a one strike and it's over situation. I am aware that everyone has their bad days. I've rehired many guys who failed the first time and came back better the next. I also rehired guys who failed several times... but I never go past 3 strikes. If you can't do it by then, maybe porn just isn't for them. Oh, and the absolute last thing (and probably most important) is that the guys know my intentions before ever walking in the door for a shoot. They know that if they fail, they leave with gas and lunch money... which is more than enough in my opinion. - PornAddict |

| leglover1000 Member 177 Posts 3/07 | Is the pop shot so essential to your scenes? I do know of some movies that do not have pop shots (i.e. Bizarre, Canida Royale Films, one pussyman scene). Why is the popshot so essential to perform in every scene in pornography? I understand guys want to see this but can there be a hot sex scene without a pop shot? If the emphasis on the pop shot is eliminated, perhaps more new male talent can emerge and the expecatation for male peformers can be focused on maintaining an erection. I may be wrong but I think the expectation of the pop shot by directors may be the reason why we see very few male talent performing and very slow change in male talent. If I am wrong please tell me. |
| Porn Addict Member I Shoot Porn 218 Posts 12/05 | I do have some other comments in regards to male talent... Someone mentioned in an earlier reply that the director can be to blame by creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. While I do agree that can happen, I wanted to let the people know that I am far from an ogre to work with/for. If you were to watch any of my clips, you'd see my true personality in every video. My shoots are very light and fun. I also dont' have a big staff with light guys, audio dudes and all the other bells and whistles. It's usually me, the talent and someone to snap pictures. Sometimes I am the talent. With that being said, if a guy can't perform in my scene... porn is, most likely, not for him. I agree that chemistry can play a big role and I do take that into consideration. That's why I mentioned that I always give people a second chance with another shoot if they should fail. Here's something that you need to consider if wanting to become male talent... or at least understanding what is needed by them (at least on my sets). Even though I like to keep the shoots pretty spontaneous and loose, there still is a mini checklist of things I want to shoot before hand. It may be certain positions I want to film or what have you. Having sex on film for a director is a lot different than banging your hot girlfriend and frolicking around with a couple hot sluts you met at a bar. I'm the type of person who will stop the talent, reposition them into weird positions and then have them continue as if nothing ever happened. Some guys can do this no problem. Other guys look like they can bend spoons with their mind because they're concentrating so hard to stay erect while I get things situated. I've also had situations where the male talent gets frustrated and asks if he can fuck the girl without me in the room and to just put the camera on the tripod... or he wants the girl to blow him for 30 minutes while he tries to get hard. These things make me look bad to the female talent so I curb that shit immediately. I could go on forever with stories about male talent, but maybe for another post sometime in the future. Sorry if I started rattling off. If you or anyone else has any other questions, comments or complaints... fire away. - PornAddict |

You can't put that on a dvd, because most porn viewers would be disapointed ... but we finally found a place for these. Aside from sometimes showing them in BTS,We put them on our website in a section called cutting room floor. It ended up becoming a popular section on our website .. some of the scenes were over 30 minutes of good rocking out sex .. just no cumshot. The people who dont care about a cumshot loved the section. We also started using it as a section for puting scenes of ideas we had tried .. but never ended up turning into a movie. Some times we have an idea for a trip/reality that well .. is only a really good idea. xoxo, |

But sometimes guys have a hard time popping even if they are good male talent. So I feel as long as you get a pop, your good. Especially if the guy was struggling. As for female talent if her ass or pussy is sore. They it's more than likely not going to be a good scene... But that's my own personally opinion. After all who wants to be in pain while fucking. As for the agents they should be held responsible for booking the talent if the KNEW their talent was sore or shakey. That's why when it's all said and done you really need to have a good working relationship with your agent. You want to be able to tell your agent "No I don't feel well" or "No I am just not feeling that type of scene" So on and so forth... On that note, I am done here. mod: extraneous quote removed Edited by - hardware on 6/7/2007 11:53:48 AM |

As for the mod edit on an extraneous quote, was it a super long one, harmful to someone? Or is this just a good example of unnecessary censorship? "extraneous quote removed" seems a kind of flimsy reason to edit someones point being made. www.makemoneyfucking.com |

I didn't get a kill fee and I had to come back two days later and wait several more hours. I think it's all dependent on the circumstances, and I feel I should have got something. the fuck junkie ♠ Jaktarn Thats insane I guess there wer some continuity problems if replacing him since its a feature but its still fucked up? 5 hours? Did he call in and let the director know or were you guys just sitting around waiting? Taryn Thomas First off you get what you pay for male or female. I mean what happens if it comes overnight, then you dont have very much help of an agent. |
| Aplus Senior Member 1431 Posts 5/05 | I'm not crazy about the idea of a $50 appearance fee, but at the same time don't feel performers should necessarily be paid in full for a scene that is unusable or wasn't completed. I'm not talking about a pop-shot finish though. Porn guys are generally way over-worked due to there being relatively few of them, so sometimes there simply isn't anymore cum in the tank....so to speak. I consider paying or not paying male talent by their ability/inability to cum barbaric. Just my opinion. Now what I would like to see is some directors or producers putting their foot down, by not continuously hiring male or female performers who give absolutely shitty performances. And to me, this is probably more a female performer thing than a male one. Is all that is required of some female talent is to simply show up? |
| RandomPrecision Senior Member Enjoy! 8175 Posts 3/06 | WRT male talent, the director (or whom ever) chose to book the guy. If the guy is someone who tends to have wood problems, why doesn't the person who does the hiring know that? Probably because they didn't do any real research before they hired the guy. They didn't ask people he's worked with. Etc. Edited by - randomprecision on 8/4/2009 1:04:28 PM |

| Aplus Senior Member 1431 Posts 5/05 | I know load size matters to a lot of consumers, probably to some directors too. Very few guys, who work alot, cum the same way all the time. I've seen dribblers sometimes shoot, and shooters sometimes dribble. Peter North is/was a freak-of-nature when it came to cumshots, but then I doubt I doubt he ever worked quite as often as today's male performers. In most cases, I don't think its something most guys really have that much control over. What happens, is what will happen. As for the paying part, I just think it reasonable for anybody to expect to be paid something if their scene is used, somethere. If a guy gives you 5-10 minutes of set-up/foreplay, 10-20 minutes of sex with maybe 2-4 positions, but with a weak load that the producer ultimately uses anyway, then yes I think they can expect to get paid as least most of the agreed upon payrate, if not all of it. |

I don't know if Chelsie got paid more or not. But she did get hired again for American Gokkun 5 and did the best scene in the whole series. In the long run -- a performer who consistently performs well will probably get more and higher paying roles. And a performer who consistently performs poorly will probably find work hard to get. |
