The new ones, yes. If they haven't proven themselves then why waste the time or the money? Truth be told as quiet as its kept, the male can make or break a scene. It definitely comes into play more if its just a regular b/g scene and the female is pretty tame; no atm, rimming, toe sucking, or anything.
But the reality is that there are only a certain amount of male performers in the Industry altogether. No matter who they are or mainly feature with its usually the same guys everywhere you click. Black, white, Latin or Hispanic, whatever. Its a totally different echelon when it comes to them. I don't want to sound sexist but it's true. Females come a dime a dozen but quality male performers don't. Any company or director will tell you that out of their own mouth

Briefly OT, but we do not know that Halona Vog's story is true.

Let's not forget that there is a chicken and egg problem here too.
For the existing "stars" in the industry (even if we incorrectly assume that they are all in it to drum up escorting business) it's not crazy to think that they could afford to pay (not necessarily that they'd be willing) to make porn movies as a means of promotion, but it's a totally unsustainable model. How does unestablished, new talent break into the industry? If the need for self promotion is that great in order to make escorting work (and it must be a need if you expect women to pay for it out of their own pocket) how do they get the money to do the self promotion? Escorting is out as this model presupposes that escorting requires this brand building to be successful on the level needed to have the kind of money that one would have to have laying around to make the promotion in the first place.
So while current established stars could probably make it work in the short term (though they would have no real incentive to do such since they are already established) this plan is simply non sustainable on any sort of long term. One of two things would happen... either the industry would implode, or when faced with a severe shortage of marketable talent willing to pony up cash up front to make movies, the studios would relent and start paying talent again and we'd revert back to the same model we have now.
I'm sure I could dream up a silly scenario where anyone could do their job for free too. Somehow I doubt anyone would be as willing to work for free as the people whose behalf you're so willing to speak.

So we're just supposed to take his word for it and assume that his perspective of a peculiar moment is the most accurate? My friend, Halonas story is not really unique. There's females who have really been coerced into making scenes or better yet pop performing sexual acts on people for debts owed or through manipulation of circumstances. Im not saying that bitches don't lie but usually they don't make YouTube videos about Porn they shot just to save face. I'm not saying that it's not impossible I'm just sayin that its unlikely. Especially when things appear consensual like they are in LP videos. Everything from the golden showers to the triple anals
Woodman is also an outsider, he doesn't work for that company. So all he's doing is speculating. He wasnt there so he doesn't know. He doesn't kiss her at night and wakes up with her so he doesn't have a clue who she is. Maybe she genuinely wanted to shoot porno but once they tried to take it to that next level then maybe she thought it wasn't a good investment. Halona is beautiful, she doesn't necessarily need porno to make money.
I'm not saying that what Pierre said isn't true I'm just sayin that at any given time that you don't know what people are going through. It might be all smiles on the outside and all fun & games in the meanwhile. But on the inside it can be the complete opposite. Just because someone is an entertainer doesn't mean that that's all their life is. Bonnie Rotten is having a child and is possibly getting married to her child's father and you'd never guess that if you ever saw any of her scenes. This is fantasy entertainment, not real life. Everybody isn't at the bar at the end of the day getting pissy drunk and snorting lines on cheeseburger buns when the filming is done. Most are still busy trying to secure a future or live a normal life as much as they can. But there's definitely a lot of trashy bitches in the Industry though. They're just as cutthroat as the men are and there's no changing them. Not when they're 30, not when they're 40, etc.
Which brings me back to my point as to why they should be paying to star in these flicks instead of the opposite. You wouldn't even know who most of these performers are. They would still be on the corners or on the internet or at the strip club advertising pussy. No disrespect to them but its true. None of us would even know who Jesse Jane is if it wasn't for Digital Playground, let alone the Kylie Sinners. You underestimate all of our favorite Company's worth

^I won't comment on Halona further because I do not want to derail the thread, but my point in commenting earlier is that we do not know that Halona's account is true. She made an extraordinary claim for which she provided no evidence at all, and so until corroborating evidence is available I'd suggest that it is imprudent to mention Halona as an example of a pornstar who was coerced into shooting porn.

I disagree but she's not the point of this at all.
I might marry a Pornstar and impregnate her multiple times even if she's active but im no Captain Save A Hoe. And I'm no apologist either so you can miss me with that Stockholmes Syndrome shit. I know some of y'all get a kick out of disrespecting and making fun of black people at all costs and since im very aware of that already so you'll never bait me. I could care less. I already know where you stand. And not to mention I love legalporno so chill, twice
You can't do anything for me. Your types come a dime a dozen. I'm extremely confident in coming with the right product to the right people. Most of you are just spectators and middlemen who don't make or break any particular company. And if you think you do you're extremely high on drugs and deserve a pink slip or a syraquil. Selling sex isnt as complicated and intricate as hired journalists make it out to be. If it was then the Trannies on K Street in D.C. wouldn't be selling hole in front of churches to all races and backgrounds of men 7 days a week for the past couple decades.
All im saying is to those that care and those that own that its time to get the most bang for your buck. That's not to imply that you shouldn't hold up your end of the bargain. But simply to point out that there's no reason to keep on losing money on fly by night "performers" who are just in it for a check that alot of times end up milking those/that scene for years to come. Not only does it put more money in their pocket but it'll allow more money into the girls brand as well. You can't keep living for today trying to reach back for yesterday. In other words, stop trying to sell to the masses trying to cater to a particular group all of the while losing profit. You have the highest platform so use it to the best of its potential. Falling for the old okie doke because a performer is on camera for "everyone" to see potentially for the rest of her life is hardly the issue some make it out to be. If you don't understand that then you're just a creep. And those types stalk you whether you're famous or not

To expand on what you said even further...
Even at $4,000 that is simply covering the cost to shoot the scene, but even if we say it covers every cost to make it free to the consumer (storage space, bandwidth, etc) we're still just covering costs. Why would a studio agree to promote a performer if they aren't going to be making any money on it? The real question isn't how much it costs a studio to produce a scene, the question is how much does a studio profit on a scene. That is really the number you need to approach if you want to see studios giving the stuff away. If studios could cover their costs and make the same profit by changing business models, they might be inclined to do it (realistically they'd want to make significantly more in order to switch, but let's assumer the'yre content to switch in order to maintain the same profits they have now) but they certainly won't change gears to make less (or no) money.
I have to say I'd love to hear Willie's elevator pitch to a Digital Playground exec.
"What if I told you there was a way for you to make almost no money, and give porn away for free... would you be interested in that?"

The whole premise of this is combating piracy and minimizing losses. If a performer pays their own way and maybe even brings their own fluffers and or make-up artist then it would be very cost efficient. There's also such things as subdivisions so everything doesn't have to go in one area once content begins to flood.
That's why I said that some of y'all need to get that pink slip. Youre outdated. I was born in 88, I have my fingers on the pulse of this society. I know exactly how things move and shake. No one is going to be able to stop file sharing. It might get more difficult but youll never stop it. Im not paying for porn thats usually freely available anymore than youll cease to stop watching pornography.
Companies should stop making it hard on themselves and stop trying to do what they keep on doing. We're all coexisting with a generation or two who grew up virtually not paying for any type of entertainment and theyll only continue to grow in numbers as the years go on. Wannabe, Potential, or Fly-By-Night stars contributing to their stardom is the least they can do. They can bring something to the table other than their hands out. Because none of us would know who they are if it wasn't for Tubesites and Brand name companies

This site is free because people here pay for their porn. You can go somewhere else to talk about stealing porn.
