| charlie Member uk 450 Posts 4/00 | Hi all, I had a new catalogue through the post today from STB (Simply The Best)based in Holland and offering delivery within the UK. Anyone heard or used them before? I went to their website just to check them out and they have a good variety of European and American titles. I do like the big cover scans they have on their site especially useful for choosing European titles. Good range of Videorama, Max Perv, DBM titles. Obviously you can import the US titles cheaper from the US and Euro titles from Erodvd but they are not too pricey if they ship within the UK especially for the type of material liable to get confiscated. | charlie Member uk 450 Posts 4/00 | Flinty, I have used www.adultdvdboxoffice.com a couple of times about 2 years ago and they were slow compared to the US retailers. Don't know if they have improved the speed of their service these days because I have not used them since. |
| timotei Member UK 271 Posts 4/02 | The problem is that you cannot tell which titles you will actually be able to get. There is no stock information when you browse their site, and there's no order status/tracking either. Worse still, EroDVD don't seem to even do any back ordering. The result of all this is that if you order 6 titles, then when the package arrives their may be only 4 discs, and a note saying "sorry we didn't have the others in stock". No back order, no nothing, you just don't get the titles. Personally, if they don't have the title in stock and won't back order it either, then it shouldn't be listed on the website. A shame, as EroDVD is one of those places that is good when it works. End of Rant! |

| Gabriel Nine Senior Member Firecracker 1273 Posts 8/01 | They have such good prices and are eager to please - I always find their service is good and personal too but it is definitely a small company. They need to upgrade their stock procedures etc to improve their service, but then if they spend more on the site, staff levels etc then prices inevitably go up. Anyway, back to STB - any more comments on them? |

Have spotted a couple of titles I had trouble finding elsewhere, I'll try them and post some feedback here. Edited by - joey starr on 1/6/2003 4:54:28 AM |
| timotei Member UK 271 Posts 4/02 | As briefly noted above, potential buyers should watch carefully as to whether titles like Evil Angel ones are the original US version, or an English R18 or even a european Shiva release. They are not all the same! I'm gonna stick to US sites. IMHO, the whole idea of shipping from within the UK is not really that much of an advantage these days. |
| Joey Starr Senior Member Still wanking after all these years. 8082 Posts 10/00 | However some of the stuff STB carry is not available from the US and likely to be seized by customs if you import it from say The Netherlands (watersports/fisting/extreme S&M). That is the reason some people might prefer ordering from a company shipping from within the UK. Plus again they seem to carry a few titles that are very hard to find elsewhere... |
| Gabriel Nine Senior Member Firecracker 1273 Posts 8/01 | I haven't had any Shiva DVDs, but their versions of Evil Angel movies were usually the same as the US version, and generally good quality in my experience. However, I've heard the R18 DVDs of EA movies can be poorer. I don't like it when companies offer "XXX" hardcore, then sell R18s which, though fully HC, can still be edited. |
| Gabriel Nine Senior Member Firecracker 1273 Posts 8/01 | I placed a test order for a couple of discs. Got one yesterday, with a note to say that if I was expecting another, and it's not there, then it's out of stock and should follow. If you follow! The colour sleeve was sent separately. The box will be sent separately too, apparently. Does this make sense? To me, it's an unnecessary expense and unduly cautious, given it's all posted within the UK anyway. So quick service (about 1 week inc. weekend), but it's "backordered" again. The bane of my porn ordering life. BTW Their postage is £1 a disc, if you pay by credit card. Other payment methods are post free? Does this make any sense either? |

| Gabriel Nine Senior Member Firecracker 1273 Posts 8/01 | I thought they were okay though - they do seem to answer emails quickly, which is a good sign to me. But I agree, credit notes are not an appropriate way to go - I'd rather have the choice. |
| JWNL Member 38 Posts 2/03 | They are really cheap. Not only the DVD's are way cheaper then somewhere else, but he shipping is almost 50% cheaper as Adultdvdempire, or other shops. go ahead check them out. https://secure.addvd.com/ JWNL Edited by - JWNL on 5/23/2003 3:23:17 AM |

| samurai dai Member 449 Posts 2/03 | I e-mailed Aline Bakhuis who works at their Customer services regarding a query about stock information on their website (www.erodvd.nl) and I received this following reply.........
Also, she was very quick to reply to my e mail, within a few hours. very helpful indeed. I have never ordered from erodvd.nl before but I am certainly going to give them a try. SAMURAI DAI Edited by - samurai dai on 5/24/2003 10:51:27 AM |
| veracity Member 18 Posts 8/02 | They do advertise some pretty extreme titles, but Im not sure they carry anything in stock. You will receive it eventually though. Or a nice letter from Customs of course. I think you would do better at ERO

| paraglider Deactivated User 44 Posts 9/01 | I have never used STB. I had been contemplating using them for the more extreme titles. I was worried after receiving a letter from HM after an intercepted title from erodvd. Especially after the change in law last year and also someone reporting on how HM came to their house after several intercepts. So slow deliveries of a month are a no no. But I am puzzled by your comment on HM letters by ordering from STB. I thought they posted their DVDs from inside the UK. A main reason fro using STB. Where was your DVD shipped from? Another problem I have with STB. They crash my IE browser. I have to use Opera to look at their site. |
| struan Member SCOTLAND 242 Posts 8/02 | I have purchased a number of tapes (all VHS are copies, as already stated) from them over the last few years, and have always received the items ordered. Delivery times vary. On the couple of occasions I was disappointed by the quality of the copy, they sent replacements post haste, both of which were fine. Emails have been answered very quickly (as far as I can remember, within 24 hrs). On the one occasion I placed a credit card order, I received a written confirmation of the transaction through the mail prior to the order arriving, as well as email confirmation at the time of the order. If you wish to play it safe for items that may be liable to theft by Customs, then STB are to be recommended. I receive their (approx.) monthly, hard copy catalogue, and while they have a small (relative to the large, on-line companies) number of titles available each time, they consistently cover a very wide range of subjects. Given my generally very positive report, I guess I should state that I have no connection with the company, other than as a satisfied customer. BTW, I can also recommend ‘Tabor’ as a totally reliable supplier (again, from their hard copy catalogue, for VHS) – They are not particularly cheap, but for certain titles (they have had a number of the great ‘First Class’ WS titles) they are also very good. Hope that helps. |
