Black male & non-black female? Seems like there are so many members on this board who only think along these lines. If an Asian or Hispanic woman, for example, has sex with a white guy, that's IR, but it seems like that doesn't count. I also never seem to read threads about black girls fucking white (or hispanic, or Asian) guys. What am I missing?

You're missing the fact that "IR" describes a niche market in porn. In other words, it has become a marketing term within the industry. Like many marketing terms, it bears only a passing resemblance to reality.
On a related note, altering the meaning of a word is actually pretty common in the English language.

As much as I would like IR to be Black male, white female, by definition, it's any two races.

Why would you like the word "interracial" to be just BM/WF?

Ask the porn companies.
They determine the niches..
By the way, instead of being all "pissy" about this, why not take a stand on porn actresses who refuse to work with male talent, simply because they are black.
That would be too hard right?

@LL
Well by definition a lot of vids are Bisexual. i.e., women in them have relations with men and other women.
But guess what? The industry doesn't classify those films "Bi." That is a tag reserved solely for films where men have sex with women and other men.
Do you want to register a complaint about that too?

This topic has already been discussed a few times. Search the old "interracial" threads. I'm too lazy to find it for you. In a nutshell "interracial" porn is a simple way to categorize black/white themed porn movies for marketing purposes. Just like "asian" is used to refer to any asian female/white male porn sold in the U.S. For example, XrentDVD categorizes porn movies like this.

I adressed a similar complaint some time ago but with Latino stars , this term is referred only to Spanish speakers and Brazilians i.e. Latin Americans with the addition of Spanish and Portuguese talents.
But by definition all those speaking a romance language are Latin and this includes French, Italians, Romanians and even some Swiss (Sandy Balestra) and some Belgians (Eva Karera for example) not to mention les Quebecois
I'm a European of French-Italian descent, I proudly consider myself a Latin and won't allow anybody to take this away from me.
In porn though it's different Nacho who is Spanish is considered a Latin Rocco who is Italian is not , same for Omar Galanti or Giorgio Grandi , Manuel Ferrara also is not considered a Latin even though being French he is, nor is Michael Stefano who very likely is of Italian origin (I had a schoolmate in Rome who was his mirror image but fatter)
Valentina Nappi who is Italian much like Rocco has been marketed as Latino sometimes
So in porn Latin means a specific feature, basically Spanish speakers
It is also to be noted that Franco Roccaforte is Venezuelan and Kid Jamaica is Brazilian , none of them is marketed as Latino even though they both are , they are considered just black

Because historically that's what it represented. Why wouldn't you?

Because then black female/white male and etc. wouldn't be "interracial" but same race sex, which would make no sense.

Black female white male was almost no existent. you are brighter than that. You know exactly what I meant and what the term IR has historically stood for.

Historically? , You mean the last say 3 or 4 years as History?
Because there are many movies labeled as IR with white males black females and the scenes are labeled as such individually on IAFD
The actual reason why sometimes they aren't is because there are far more white male talents than black and that black only movies aren't sold as good as white movies because blacks are only 12% of the population therefore are 12% of the porn market as well.
The greatest part of the career of any black pornstar is made with IR movies , either this or starve , simple mathematics even if 1 every 5 scenes (20%) has a black male in it one of them is IR with a white female so a black female performer who doesn't do IR may shoot only 1 scene every ten made , giving up 9 opportunities.
When you have a disproportion like this in your career it is pointless to label your scenes as IR almost all of them are in the case of Asian performer they are nearly 90% IR either with whites or blacks, again it is pointless and useless.

^LCF, it's a US thing, very hard to understand for us Europeans.
Technically there hasn't been any interracial sex since the Neanderthalers died out.

IAFD has all kinds of facts, however, the percentage of porn that was white male, black female domestically was so small through the 80's, 90's and early millennium that I don't consider your claim to be accurate. In the last 8 years you have seen more because there are more black female performers. Anyway, I'm done with this topic, IR topic are the most moderated and frowned about subjects here. I don't need this thread to take an ugly turn on my account.

in the 80 and 90 very few black females were performing as opposed to the number of today , of course there were fewer scenes , but also you would find an IR scene with no advertising at all it was just sex , the rates for IR were the same as for non IR scenes , if you wanted to know if the were IR scene you had to carefully look at the cast , I saw a vintage movie called The French Maid with Connie Peterson (credited as Connie Peters who was mostly IR including a DP yet you can't find any reference to this in the cover.
This IR thing is a recent shit , although I understand the point of labeling a product if there are customers wanting it to make them easier to be found as opposed to those who don't label them.
The Irony being that our ancestors were the blacks back then and the Neanderthalers the whites, they disappeared and we developed a white skin

Huh? I'm talking about now and I gave you my reasons why it should all be considered interracial, because it is interracial. So you should know exactly what I mean. I don't even know why you're talking about how existent BF/WM was before.

Historically "interracial" has referred to black male/white female porn but its not true today that white male/black female porn is non-existent ...
White man fucking black women porn series?
and the term "interracial" now refers to both. However the volume of black male/white female porn produced still dwarfs the latter .. supply and demand.

I'd say it's a lack of marketing nobody advertises black girls the only guy consistent in producing and commercializing IR with black females was and still is Michael Stefano I have some of his Feeling Black series
Also Woodburn's Black Street Hookers and Black Cheerleaders Search had many issues both and put black females with either black or white males.
But the demand exists Heather Hunter didn't work for charity she was in demand
Skin Diamond also is fairly in demand and awarded Skin was a most sold movie even though was a showcase dedicated only to her. Got many awards.
But there's no marketing for any of them , it's said they don't sell , well if don't make people want it , of course not
