To be honest this is an excellent video, however the transfer to DVD is a total failure. The video quality is just the same as a VHS video tape, the DVD menu is terribly slow and bad, and there's no special features whatsoever. The worst thing about the DVD is the picture quality. In my view point it's even worse than a VHS tape. I don't know how this DVD got such good review. I believe the reviewer only watched the VHS tape only. So if you are looking for DVD quality video, then stay away from 'Skateboard Sliders'. Rent the video instead. You might get a better picture quality. [Link] |

As I know, different decoders for PC can bring drastically different picture quality. My hollywood decoder card never delivers the same sharp quality as my Toshiba dvd player does. So if you paly it on PC the chance are picture quality could be lower. But still it's not an excuse for the studio to rush out a movie with lower DVD picture quality. My collection of DVD is solely for durability and therefore I may not demand a higher standard for picture and sound. I admit even Metro Releases have better quality of pictures, but I would rather spend the same price to buy this dvd instead of 2 to 3 Metros. I will ask Steph to re-review that DVD and alert the buyer of this inferior quality of pictures. Hope other people will also give some input here to see what the general feeling is about this DVD. I do wish every DVD can have the same quality picture as Atomic releases. Ken [Link] |
