Hi all. I use a Western Digital box which lets me view movies downloaded from Videobox on my big screen tv in brilliant High definition and I have noticed that a lot of porn girls have big red sores on their asses and other skin blemishes like razor burn around their genitals. It is such a huge turnoff for me since you can tell that the girls have had a recent herpes outbreak and herpes is not sexy.
I do not remember it being as big of an issue in the late 90s and early 2000s but now that I am watching in HD it has become more noticeable. I know that a producer can't just cancel a shoot if the girl shows up with a big wart on her ass, but they could try to cover it up with makeup.
Anyone else turned off by this?

An obvious solution to your problem is to stop watching porn movies in HD. Turn off the HD and watch movies at lower resolution to make it the way it was in 1990s and early 2000s.
I'd say that the use of HD requires a change in the way sex-action is filmed. It should be filmed from a greater distance to include everything in the shot. And then the viewer can use the high resolution of the film to focus closer on some part of the sex-action that he is especially interested in. This way the viewer can choose what to look at, instead of being forced to look at this or that by the film director and the camera-man.

^Although viewing videos at a lower resolution will help to hide some of the blemishes. It won't make them disapear enough that you can overlook them. I download videos in 64 hex 480 resolution and all the skin blemishes are still quite visible. I think the only solution is for studios to stop being so stingy and hire makeup artist who's job it is to hide skin blemishes as well as improven the overall look of the models with the proper use of makeup.
If a Hollywood studio can hide Angelina Jolie's body tatto with makeup than a makeup artist should have no prooblem hiding pimples and razor burns.

Yes. +1000. Why has no porn director/producer arrived at this obvious conclusion? In the porn world, it seems that HD just means sharper pictures and widescreen video frame, with zero adjustment/adaptation in how the shooting is executed. Has nobody thought about how to fully take advantage of the HD technological advance, in order to produce better porn? So far it's the same old porn, just with a newer camera. Same thing as with the transition from VHS to DVD. Same old porn, just played on a different medium. Anyone remember the promise of multiple camera angles? IMO new technology is wasted on porn. Yes, DVD is more convenient for the viewer than VHS. And online video download/streaming is more convenient for the viewer than DVD. But the actual product, the video itself, is essentially unchanged from VHS to DVD to streaming/digital/whatever. Same approach, same camera techniques, same standard shots, same standard camera angles, same standard way of shooting scenes.

I'm generally pretty picky about my porn but surprisingly enough, this is one thing that doesn't bother me too much. Tattoos and belly button rings bother me a lot more. I've had crushes on more than a few girls in real life who had bad acne. I'd rather see a few bumps than a great big honkin' tattoo that doesn't mean anything.
If the blemishes are from herpes, sure, it's a little offputting but at least it's something that's kind of supposed to happen if you have as much sex as these people have.

No of course not. Sometimes red splotches are herpes, sometimes allergies or acne You name it. I just do not find warts very attractive and wish producers would do a better job in the makeup department before the scene. I think skin blemishes of any kind, whether acne or some other medical condition, signal unfitness and make an individual less desirable. Then again, that is just me. You may like spotty faced women.
