| Opium Deactivated User 300 Posts 3/12 | i'm having a problem with sleep mode in windows 7. i had sleep and display set to enter sleep mode after 2 hours (sometimes i come back to my PC after making dinner or something and didn't want "wear & tear" to occur by the PC entering sleep mode only to be wakened again shortly). it was working fine the first few days and then it just stopped entering sleep mode. i did some googling and tried disabling the wake timers but that didn't help. so i called gateway and they advised me to set sleep mode to enter after only 10 minutes or even less. so i changed it to 10 minutes and now it's entering sleep mode again. any thoughts/advice on this? | RandomPrecision Senior Member Enjoy! 8175 Posts 3/06 | It turned out that the LAN was waking it back up (Or at least if it wasn't, it coincidentally stopped happening after I changed that setting). There are settings somewhere where you can set it so different devices can bring it out of sleep mode. I'm not sure if that's what you mean or not but it took me a while to figure it out. It's unbelievable how convoluted they made these power saving features considering they expect ordinary people to use them. Edited by - randomprecision on 5/29/2012 9:53:42 PM |
