| Posted - Jul 6 2001 : 3:09AMHow many people know that the movies that are put out by the companies are not always the movies that the performers actually did the work for? Note: There are so many scenes that I have done for certain movies that have wound up sliced and diced and put in other movies so that it can be sold over and over. I've even seen scenes that I've done for one company wind up appearing in a compilation from another company that I haven't even worked with. And, no we don't get paid for any of it. Interesting isn't it. I just wanted to let you know because I've had people tell me about movies they've seen and I have no idea what they are talking about. I don't want to say I don't know what you are talking about... but, hey... there are movies out there that I don't even know about with me in them. There are also movies out there that are going by different names than the ones that they had originally. That is also a reason why I don't always know the titles of my movies. Just a little info for you. [Link] |

Not to mention the simple fact that when you shoot the scene<s> you aren't always told what the title of the prospective video will be. I have been told on several occasions "we're not sure yet" when I asked what the title would be. (because I always TRY to keep track of what I'm in, and I always TRY to get copies of the videos I'm in) Currently speaking, there are at least three scenes out there that were shot last year that I have not been able to track down. Calling the people you worked for/with doesn't necessarily help, they were shooting it for some other company, or they sold it, or who knows what. If, given the small number of videos I've been in, I'm this frustrated, I can only imagine how many scenes/videos someone like Wendy has no idea about. Kimi [Link] |

EXACTLY!!! I actually found out about some of the names of the videos I was in from iafd.com and cavr.com. But some I think I'll never know. I talked to a friend at Private once and asked them if they knew which of the Triple XXX and Private Stories I was in. They said it would be REALLY hard to find out. I've had a bunch of videos where the names got changed. Some of them I found out about, some of them I haven't. One I found out about was a scene I shot for Rob Black. At the time he left Elegant Angel, he still hadn't released it. Since it was an all girl scene, the movie was going to be called Girls on Film. Much better than the final title of SMUT 7. Whatever. There's some movies where I don't even know what company they got sold to. I remember doing Temporary Positions. It was supposed to be a VIVID title. Several months later, I see a different girl on the box cover that has my name across the front, and it's a Sin City title. I'm in DOZENS of comps, some I know about, some I don't, but I've only acknowledged a few of the ones I know are worth seeing. If you look at my site www.triciadevereaux.com, you might be surprised how many of the titles in my video list say Title Unknown.Anyway, just felt like ranting with the other girls!

Some companies were known for adding a scene to an already released movie and calling it by another name. I reviewed some titles from "Venus" (AKA: Leisure Time) that had added a Savannah scene and prominently pasted her face and body all over the cover. It was obvious that they were shot at very different times and the reviews reflect the lousy ripoff that they are.Tricia, any of your scenes would be good to see-comp or feature. It does suck that y'all aren't given better info though because being in various movies let's you become a walking billboard for the company. I see how the local strip clubs will often promote a feature dancer based on what movies she's been in (I've often wondered why some of them don't sell copies too). [Link] |

The clubs may promote that the girl has been in movies... and that is whether she has been in them or not... they are trying to draw a crowd. As for selling movies.. there are a few that have stores right next door that are all adult oriented. But, one of the main reasons is that the girls who do feature bring their own copies to the clubs to sell.. plus we sign them etc... I sometimes sell movies with polaroids both signed as a deal... nude of course.. but, it's up to each of the girls that come into the club to put their own product out there. Otherwise it undermines the ones that are trying to make money once more on something that they would not be able to otherwise... by the way the companies to sell boxes of movies to us just for this purpose.... just wanted to clear something up about what I just said... when I said it undermines the girls who do sell their product, I was meaning when the clubs sell the movies then the girls lose out on selling what they have brought with them... just wanted to make sure I was making sense....

Hi Wendy! I'm not a strip club regular but a few friends are. They told me that all you could get from one of the feature dancers was generally a few signed polaroids and they wished they had a chance to buy the movies at the time. Of course, then I showed them ADT and I think they like the prices better here but the heat of the moment purchases (so to speak) would've been profitable for whoever sold them.Let us all know your schedule so we can save our pennies for the next time you'll be in town. Wendy, Kimi & Tricia-thanks for the insights! I've had the experience of complimenting a feature on her performance in a certain title, only to have her turn around & write down the name, since had no idea what it had been released as.HoustonDon-I see 2 or 3 features a month, and virtually all of them have movies for sale after their stage shows. I recently picked up a copy of Skintight from Gina Ryder, signed, for $20, IIRC. I wonder why your friends aren't getting this opportunity. [Link] |

Zatoichi, I don't have a clue where they go to watch the features dance. Houston has dozens of strip clubs and I don't keep up with such things. I wish there was some easy way to do so-I'd be happy going for a few autographs and getting some more pictures for ADT. [Link] |

Thanks for the insight Wendy. I'm not into the club scene much myself-I was just hoping there was a place online where we could look. I wish there was a reliable place we could check on signings too-how about visiting Houston, TX some Friday or Saturday (I'd pick you up at the airport and drive you to a few signings )? [Link] |
