Not that the industry doesn't have some of these people already. It's just that they're surprisingly uncommon for an industry where they should (one would think) be everywhere. I see so many scenes where the performers are just mindlessly pawing at each other. It doesn't give the impression of "heat". It gives the impression that they're just lost. It seems like it used to be the more popular performers were popular because they were better performers. Now there doesn't seem to be any standards or any real reason why a given performer is more popular. There are some great performers who are popular and there are some lousy performers who are extremely popular. And then there are some extremely good performers who are barely known. How does that happen? Beats me. At any rate, I'm convinced that performers should have a lot of input into the action. I think the boring, soulless, lifeless porn we see so much of is the result of performers who're as bored with doing cookie cutter sex as we are with watching it.
