It's interesting to me that Twitter et al has become so encompassing of a modern day porn stars career. Personally, I don't like to follow, but I 'check in' from time to time....how do you think this has affected you and how you engage with porn?

I actually like it. Being able to engage with my favourite performers. Twitter's great for advertising shoots and plugging new scenes.

^While I agree that finding out about new or upcoming scene may be a nice feature. How certain is anyone that they are interacting with the actual performer. For all we know. The bulk of the the tweets aren't from the performer but someone else entirely. Something to think about when discussing what happens on social media.

^Kenna James has someone running her social media.

I think one the ways you can tell if a perforner's social media is being used personally, if you actually read the posts. If they are in 1st person,then that performer actually uses sm. If the posts are in 3rd person,then that performer has someone running their social media.

Following performers on social media I find it to be great. I follow alot of performers and it has made me come to even appreciate and really like some even more than I already did. I would list the performers I feel like are great to follow but its alot of them. I love to interact with the performers and some even follow me back which is so cool. Also just the level of positive vibes and love that is spread too. Like it takes away from just looking at them as sex objects. They are real people and getting to know them outside of just the porn industry is so cool. Then I realize that they are wanting to get to know their fans too. It definitely hasnt effected me watching their porn scenes. If anything it enhances it.

I don't follow, their timeline is filled with spammy auto tweets. I never understood why do you need to tell us every time you sold a clip.

I know why they are doing it. To encourage others to buy their stuff as well, but it is annoying as hell and that is why I also never follow any pornstar. The constant auto tweets and fan retweets just fill their entire timelines.
