| tricia_devereaux Evil Angel DVD Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? 4283 Posts 4/00 | Evil Angel DVD was thrilled with the authoring quality of our new DVDs, but then I was floored when I heard that we were going to have the same audio problem that Private DVDs had with some Toshiba DVD players. Did anyone who had a problem or the people at Private ever call Toshiba? Well, I did, and here's what they told me. If any owner of a Toshiba DVD player (and the problem seems to be with the 2109 and 2200 players - the 2109 has been discontinued by the way) has problems hearing audio with any DVD disc, they can phone customer service at Toshiba (800-631-3811) and they will be directed to the nearest Toshiba service center. They made it clear to me that it is NOT a hardware problem with them, nor is it a problem with my authoring company. It is a COMPATIBILITY problem between the two. At any rate, if the owner of the player wants to take the time to go to the service center, it is a FREE upgrade. I am trying to get the Toshiba Corporate Office to issue a letter to me that I can use as a press release on this subject. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to email me. They seem all-too aware of the situation. To everyone: keep me informed of the situation. (by email if you would be so kind--I only check in once or twice a week at best. They told me there would be no problems for any of my customers. I'm curious to see if they actually do follow through. Toshiba has such a good reputation. I'm sure it will be fine. Best of luck... Thanks everyone. --Tricia |

We FedExed them Buttman's Big Butt Euro Babes and Buttman's Anal Show today. I included a letter saying that there have been problems reported with models 2200, 2109, 1200, and maybe also 3108. They will test the DVDs and get back to me within a week with the result. They did say that there is a hardware upgrade available, they just want to make sure that this problem can be solved by the upgrade. If it can, Evil Angel will be entered into their system, and then any owners that call in with a problem can mention the specifics, and customer service will know what you're talking about. Give it a week though. I'll get back to all of you as soon as I know something. Tricia |

But it's not an audio problem with the sd2200, seeing how the disc's will not load at all. ====== I have a Toshiba SD3006 and I usually have a helluva time with Diabolic dvds not wanting to load in my player. the only way to get them to play is to start furiously hitting the title button on the remoate and hope it pulls through |

There is a good chance that the person who answers this number won't even know about the upgrades that are available. If they don't, ask them to talk to their supervisor, Ellen Young, and tell them that it is a problem and you have been referred by Evil Angel Productions. This should solve the problem. Downside, the only current service center performing the upgrades is in Georgia, so you will be without your player for about 2 weeks. Other downside, they only pay for the upgrade for players that were made in 1999 or 2000, none from earlier than that. Hope this helps. Tricia Devereaux -- Evil Angel DVD |
| HRpufnstuf Member 12 Posts 6/00 | I have a Toshiba SD3109. Manufactured in November 1999. It has no problems with "The Matrix." My question is: How do I find out if it will work with Evil Angel DVDs without risking that I'm going to get stuck with a DVD that doesn't work in my player? Is it all Toshibas of those model numbers, or just some? |
| tricia_devereaux Evil Angel DVD Patience is a virtue, but who wants to be virtuous? 4283 Posts 4/00 | My best advice would be to rent one of our DVDs, if that's possible. Some online stores might exchange for a different title if you had problems, but I'm not sure. Evil Angel only offers stores exchanges, not credits, so if you couldn't play our DVD, the store might not be able to help you. In summary, rent one first... if it works, buy the next one! |
