I am revising [ invalid url ] and I need some help in identifying some performers. Before I add them as unknown performers, I am trying my luck here to see if any of you can ID some of them.
I will make a distinction between perfs who actually perform sex and NonSex perfs. All the NonSex perfs have speaking parts.
Sex performers
1) blonde from current scene 8
girl3_3c.jpg2) black guy from current scene 9
guy6_1c.jpg3) white guy from current scene 9
guy7_1c.jpgNonSex performers
4) Madam of the male brothel
girl1_5.jpg5) girlfriend of Lyn Malone's character, a schoolgirl
girl2_1c.jpg6) customer of the male brothel
girl4_4c.jpg7) teacher of Lyn Malone's character
guy1_2c.jpg8) guy at the male brothel (if I wouldn't know any better, I would say he is mainstream actor John Astin)
guy2_3c.jpg9) mechanic 1 of Sandi Pinney's race car
guy3_1c.jpg10) mechanic 2 of Sandi Pinney's race car
guy4_1c.jpg11) police officer at the end
guy9_1c.jpgAnd finally, I knew all about the controversy with regards to the fact that Lyn Malone's character is only 15 years old. But this was an even bigger surprise. de Renzy used an actual underaged boy in a speaking part. He plays the son of the blonde from scene 8.

And no, he won't be added to the IAFD.

From that shot number 10 looks like Ken Turner but I thought he only did one film.

# 10 is not Ken Turner. Turner was about 5 inches taller than that guy.
Damned if I know her name, but #6 looks a lot like the casting agent in Hollywood She-Wolves who auditions John Boland (their scene is cut on the current Alpha Blue Archives release).
As for the boy, I believe he might actually be DeRenzy's real life son. Can't remember his name off hand.
Use of underage actors in 70s X rated films was rare but not unheard of. Although most underage actors would only be cast in small roles as is the case here, Laura Nicholson who plays Jennifer in Jonas Middleton's masterpiece Through the Looking Glass was only 16 at the time (people have also stated that she was 14) and she has a reasonably large part and Andrea True's son in Both Ways is played by a kid who couldn't have been older than 7 or 8, and he has a fairly large role in the film. Al Poe is also attacked twice by a group of elementary school age girls in Tongue, and there's a real life baby briefly seen in the hospital sequence in Wanda Whips Wall Street.
Again, because these films were REAL FILMS, it wasn't unlikely that a screenplay could call for kids to act as characters.

Walter, some of those screenshots are surprisingly good quality; are they from the TVX dvd?

No. An old VHS-copy I inherited from an old friend who used to own a video rental store.
The caps look good because I did a lot work on them. Most importantly, the NTSC to PAL conversion had once again fucked up the colors. The image had a yellowish-green tint.
But I agree that the caps turned out reasonably well. I was lucky (and quite surprised) that the tape was in fairly good condition, especially considering it must be at least 15 years old.
I have been a lot less fortunate with many other old tapes I have inherited together with this one.

I don't agree with this. More recent adult features have called for minor characters. They never involved minor actors. For example, Hyapatia Lee's character in Masseuse from 1990 has a baby. However, the film makers went to great lenghths to show that the "baby" is a doll at the end of the movie.
The real reason why this was possible in the 70's and not possible any more as early as 1990 seems to have nothing to do with aesthetics. My guess is that it has all to do with ethics and economics. The 1970s are in many ways the wildest, least regulated period of film making -- not just porn, but also in mainstream. Whether it is child porn being still legal in places like Denmark, or actors dissecting a live turtle in Cannibal Holocaust, all kinds of shit can be seen in all kinds of films from the 70s that would be at least be frawned upon in these more PC-minded times. If not downright outlawed.

I haven't seen Masseuse but I if the filmmakers intentionally show that the baby is fake then that's nothing more than bad filmmaking.
I definately agree that the 70s saw the creation of some of the most amazingly fucked up movies ever made. At the same time, this lawlessness opened up limitless possibilities for filmmakers to do whatever they wanted in their films.
Today, thanks mostly to silly PC restrictions, filmmakers feel burdened to make their films as un-controversial as possible. In today's world, Alex DeRenzy couldn't have made Babyface the way he did, Jonas Middleton couldn't have made Through the Looking Glass the way he did, etc. I don't think casting minors in non-sex character roles had to do anything with "ethics and economics." If the script calls for a character who is say 10, choosing someone who looks like a 10 year old is simply good casting. Again, in these wonderful PC times we live in, no screenwriter creating a script for an X rated film would dare create a character who is supposed to be a prepubescent minor (except Max Hardcore of course), but that's neither here nor there.
Not at all similar content wise, but another thing which has been lost thanks to PC are realistic rape scenes in X rated films. Although the 70s definately had their fair share of "she protests at first" style scenes, so many films with good integrity depicted rape as violent and brutal rather than something a woman will just start enjoying after a while. Nevertheless, films like (Anna)Obsessed, Expensive Tastes, The Taking of Christina, etc. have had their realistic and therefore violent rape scenes heavily cut. It just doesn't make sense to me...

If you're trying to make the argument that the sense of lawlessness in the 70s would have led an X rated filmmaker to not think twice about casting minors in supporting roles, I suppose that might have been the case. But I don't think it's a sense of "better" ethics that no screenwriter would dare write a role only a minor could realistically play today. It's simply a matter of that being illegal.
Look no further than Larry Clark's Ken Park which features both hardcore sex and many minors in supporting roles. As a consequence, the film has almost never been played in the states nor released on video or DVD here. Why? Fear of legal problems.

As long as the minor is not in a sex scene I don't see the problem with them being in an x-rated film.
A really creepy exception would be the kid used in Do Me Evil, in that movie a young boy watches his brother have sex with the babysitter, but even though it is clear that the boy isn't really 'watching' the scene the suggestion is disturbing. Interestingly enough, Rocco's Ass Collector has a similar scene but he avoids having to shoot a young boy by shooting it with a floating POV camera shot.

Toby Ross told me all about them. He said he met the kids (real life brothers) on the street one day with their mom (the woman who plays their mom in the film) and she told him they needed a place to stay. He let them crash in his house and then offered them roles in the film. He said that the kid playing the young version of the retarded brother was actually quite a good actor. They left a few days later and he never heard from them again.

Likely as he was in two other S.F. shot films made about the same time.
