Yeah, they fucking suck.

"Taped College Confessions" and all of their other lines were...well...not good.

You know I am a Taylor St. Claire freak. Everyone here probably knows that. Well, she was in two scenes for them during her girl/girl days. Even I couldn't find them hot and I could practically go crazy just watching and hearing her read the phone book. That's pretty bad.

Here's my dilemna though...Rain now has a gonzo company named AcidRain. They have a tape with Missy Monroe on the cover called "Bang My White Ass." The box advertizes it has having 6 anal scenes. Well, that would mean Missy does anal in it. I really want to see it then but it's still Rain though kind of not. I think I'll take my chances.

Mark Wood is good. I read an interview with him recently where he kept on talking about how impressed he was about TT Boy and how he is trying to learn from TT's career. It was all rather interesting. And in many ways he reminds me of TT. But like TT I have never found any of his directed product to be amazing. It's more like consistently good and solid. That's not too bad. Maybe this move to JM will kickstart him to a, bad pun here, Next Level.

yeah he is consistent, i'd say a journeyman type but he's better than that.

i really don't understand why so much of porn is so bad. A VX 2000 is kinda idiot proof i thought. but i still see some really shitty amateurish movies. I watched a Dave Pounder movie, the first scene was tinted in this glowing electric yellow, looked like some cable access special effects from 1980. Too bad it wasn't deliberate.

i'm not much of a TTBoy fan, my gut feeling watching his stuff is that not many of the chicks dig his act and I have to believe the girl is into it to get aroused by a porn scene.

I can see that. However, I have read plenty of interviews with girls where, inexplicably, they list TT has being one of their favorite guys to work with. Dana Vespoli is the most recent example I can think of. However, I did read an on-set from "Deep Pink 2" and Alexis Amore definitely didn't like his over aggressive nature while the other partner in their scene (Ms. St. Claire) didn't care. So, maybe the girls are split on him.

But the comparison to TT was not meant as a performance comparison and that is not what Mark Wood was citing in the interview. He was talking about TT's directing and ways of running business. SImply put, both guys directt and produce new tapes non-stop.

I somehow just came across "Bang My White Ass" from Acid Rain. It is actually pretty good. Absolutely none of the problems the other Rain tapes have appear here. It is a solid piece of interracial gonzo. Here's the thing...

Remember how I said that the title is "Bang My White Ass?" And remember how I said that the box said 6 Anal Scenes? And remember how I said that Missy Monroe, who has only done anal twice before and those times were in limited fashion, was gracing the cover? Yeah, well she doesn't do anal. How the fuck does Acid Rain decide that with their second ever release (the first was "Give Me Gape") they are going to name the title "Bang My White Ass", cast Missy Monroe to do a pretty hot threesome with tons of double vag but no anal, put her on the cover with the promise of an anal scene from her, and release it? Fucking assholes. Too bad that they are all ready planning on flat out lying to us considering that the actual product is pretty good.

Lex Drill might be good but it doesn't have Legend on the box. Maybe they distribute it. Overall everything I've seen under the Legend banner is bad feature porn.

there are lots of small shitty production companies but I give RAIN the worst award because they obviously have some money seeing as they seem to turn out a helluva lot of product. The movies are unwatchable

Let me start off buy saying I don't work for RAIN, I work for Platinum Pictures Inc. (not Platinum X Pictures by the way) we also license to AEBN.

I will take time and some of my aebn minutes to see what you are saying but at RAIN, but consider an important point which may explain why there is less attention to production values across the board, from big and small companies alike.

The adult video business is currently set up to reward quantity not quality. So don't assume they have money because they have a lot of titles. They may have discovered what many small production companies have..

Distributors pay you the same small wholesale price for good porn as they do for bad porn. What they respect is quaintly and a steady stream of it. Why not spread the money over five titles instead of doing one good one? You'll make more money.

If you take your time and money working on good work distributors may actually look disfavorably on you. Why? They want a steady predicable stream to give to their stores. And increasing customers have a terminal case of : WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY?". It's all about your next project. What's next?

Think about how often right here on adultdvdtalk you read threads commenting on a brand new movie and within five post the question comes up when is volume 3 or 300 coming out.

We have takin a lot of heat for only having a small number of titles at Platinum Pictures Inc. but our boss decided to make movies she felt were good. We have focus on the ethnic market but the rules apply to all of porn today. Most companies learn fast that the way to grow is get the stuff out of the door. Get better later (maybe).

Until we all realize that less may be more ....even in porn, we will continue to have more companies in porn just to get stuff out the door and not because they care about what they are putting out.

Not everyone will like our stuff either, but time, attention and care went into it. Just my two cents and a possible explanation of a growing trend.
