I just watched yet another scene where the guy fucks the girl the entire time with a condom on, but then pulls it off and pops all over her asshole and pussy. This happens most often with foreign scenes (I stopped watching Vivid a million years ago because of it) and it just doesn't seem to make sense. If you're afraid of STDs/HIV to the point of wrapping it from the get-go, then why the hell would you let semen drip into open lips and orifices???
I've thought the exact same thing.I can understand the not getting pregnant thing but std'd/ HIV? What's the reasoning?

Only 2 reasons come to mind: 1- They think the risk is significantly lower than that of actual unprotected intercourse 2- Only the male talent is worried about STDs and doesn't risk anything with the cumshot

Rubbers are silly in porn and in life in general. Why is a dick or pussy clean enought to put your mouth on, but the minute the dick hits the pussy you have to wrap it?
^ You do know that most STDs are much more easily transferred via penis-to-vagina or penis-to-asshole contact than via penis-to-mouth contact, right? Because it kinda sounds like you don't. As to the OP's question, well remember that cumming inside a girl isn't the only thing that can give her a disease. Often the virus in question can be spread via the blood on a worn-out dick mixing with the blood in a worn-out pussy or ass. Condom sex would prevent that from happening. Now, why cum inside the girl afterwards? Well, yeah, it does seem a bit stupid, and it is, but maybe the feeling is that some of the cum doesn't actually go in the girl, and so risk is decreased. Or something like that. Remember that all methods of "safe sex" are means of reducing risk, not eliminating it; I guess it just depends how much you want to reduce the risk. This "condom first, then cum on her pussy" style is more risk than keeping the condom on the whole time, but less risk than fucking without a condom at all. I have a question: what is the reason for pornstars, both male and female to wear condoms i mean arent they fuckin tested for stds before shoots ? justs looks stupid to me
It always looks clunky when the dude yanks off the condom. The editors should cut that part out, and just do a jump cut between condom-wearing and condom-free. Edited by - ninja1 on 3/21/2011 12:38:11 PM
Thanks for the thoughts above. However, to be clear, this was one (of many, many I've seen) where the guy wears a condom the whole time and then shoots his cum right into the chick's open holes (she was reaching back and holding them open and tons slid inside). How does this make sense in any way???

I agree...I hate watching scenes with rubbers in them especially for that reason...having to watch while the guy or girl pulls/yanks the rubber off just kills the mood...jump cutting sounds like a good way to solve that issue...
My understanding is that the vigana and especially the anus are subject to tears and therefor blood which is the ways aids is transmitted and not by any other ways. Gay men were extreamly vunerable because of anal taring. Haven't seen a condum in movies for quite a while now. Just saw an actress in a scene recently who was infected in the recent scare. Can't remember her name but first name was Lady. Wayne In Dallas
I actually don't mind condom porn so having a scene that has them in it is fine with me. Of course I've being watching European style porn for a long time and that is a common occurence in many of their movies. I tend to agree that f..g the girl and then taking the condom after you pull out to cum on her is not the way I'd like to see the scene go. I'd much prefer to see the guy cum inside the girl and then you see the deed once he pulls out. I always thought the pop shot was because filmakers wanted to prove that there was actual penetration instead of pretend penetration like there is in softcore porn.
The transmission rate of std's is way lower for oral sex, plus when drop cum on a girls holes alot of the std's die once they hit open air or oxygen. example HIV transmision rates from oral sex is less than 1% and between 4-6% with vaginal sex and like 20% with anal sex. In regard to testing alot of those test are 2-4 weeks and they could have contracted STd's in between shots and their last testing date.
Of course b/c this is porn, they even fuck up what could be an erotic moment. I remember back in the wooly 80s that scene (NIghtshift Nurses I think. American XXXtasy used this as their Pubic (not a typo) Service Announcement recommending condoms for their viewers' safe sex practice.) Adorable anal slattern Siobahn Hunter with that silky long hair of hers, reached back and tore open Peter North's condom package with her teeth. I don't know if she applied it for him, but that could be a hot scenario. Instead porn "cheats" and hope we won't notice that a garbage sack is slipped over penis. Definite buzz kill I agree. It's the main reason I've soured on REality Kings product

Oh please, blah blah blah. This snippet was taken from Herpes.com: "Oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals, and vice versa. Symptoms are similar. Auto-inoculation: An infected individual can spread the virus to other parts of his or her body by touching an area shedding virus and then touching, scratching, or rubbing another susceptible part of the body. Towels are especially conducive to this. It is possible for a person to contract genital herpes if the partner with oral herpes performs oral sex. Oral herpes can be transmitted to the genitals, and vice versa. Symptoms are similar." I will say that I've read the chances of HIV transmission is small from genital to oral contact based on the digestive properties in saliva. However; I stand my my statement that condoms are silly in porn given that it's been reported numerous times that the majority of porn performers have herpes, so the concept of using rubbers is silly, I repeat, silly. ^ I won't argue that I prefer condom porn, because I don't; but I still think you're shooting yourself in the foot there. If most performers have herpes, then herpes wouldn't be the issue, would it? Of more concern would be things like, say, HIV, which as you pointed out, has a low transmission rate via oral sex. That's why the condom goes on for the genital penetration, but not for the oral.
If you have ever had a cold sore on your mouth then you have herpes. Lots of people don't know that & probably have made out with a person with herpes. Some people have herpes & never have outbreaks, so they don't know.

the industry seems to be caught between a rock and a hard place...using condoms in scenes does increase the safety factor for all involved...however, a lot of fans don't like it and will buy from companies that don't use them in their movies...there won't be any winners in this scenario it seems...
While I don't like it, the practice seemse totally reasonable. Most STD'd die once airborne. Additionally, for an STD to be transmitted it must reach an open wound. These are obvious on the surface of the skin, but more incognito in the vagina and anus -- hence the use of condoms. A performer with an STD can pop on a torso or potentially the face withough transmitting the disease. It's just one mroe safe guard. The only exception to this rule is hepatitus, which has been proven to prosper outside of the body for up to 25 days.
Herpes ain't gonna be on the AIM test list because that list is focused on hiv infection prevention. Herpes seems to be widespread in the industry, even the price one pays for porn stardom.

I wonder what the actors and actesses think of this topic...since their the ones most directly involved, it'd be nice to get their opinion on the subject...
But that doesn't make any sense either. If the transmission rate for HIV is low in the first place (Among the general public, I'm assuming), then the chances of catching it within a pool of people who are regularly tested for it have to be even lower. Which would seem to be confirmed by the fact that there are actually very few cases among many thousands of performers over a period of decades and many thousands of scenes. It just so happens that the pro condom crowd makes a mountain out of a molehill every time there's a single case (It's obvious they don't really care about the people. They're just exploiting someone else's bad luck to push their agenda). I don't want to downplay the obvious seriousness of it but that's just how it is. People get hurt sometimes in the course of doing something that has inherent risk in doing it right. Sometimes people get hurt in factories making the products we use every day. This in spite of the fact that the people who own and run the factories take sensible precautions. No. They can't possibly protect their workers from every conceivable danger. Especially if it causes the factory to put out a basically useless and inferior product. Does it happen? Can it happen? Yes. Of course. It's a calculated risk. Everyone who works in porn knows they're taking a chance even with the testing. They also know that condoms utterly ruin porn scenes for the vast majority of the people who are paying for them. Testing is (and has shown itself to be) very effective for the most serious risk performers face and the customer doesn't end up with a vastly inferior product because of it. When everything goes right, testing is basically invisible to the average customer. Edited by - randomprecision on 3/22/2011 5:44:40 AM
There's 2 forms of herpes but neither is necessarily mouth or genital specific, so someone with a cold sore can pass the virus to genitals through oral sex or visaversal.
^Um, nope. HSV1 prefers the oral area (mouth, chin, jaw). HSV2 prefers the genital area. It has to do with the ganglion under the surface. Each virus is more attracted to one bunch of nerves and likes to live there, but there are instances of HSV1 appearing on genitals and vice versa for HSV2.
I have sex with condoms and it doesn't "ruin sex," I don't know why it ruins sex in porn films. It's not the coolest thing to look at, but it's not the soul crushing thing people make it out to be. My personal wish is that more porn movies featured condoms. Anytime a porn films use "sex with a hooker" as a set-up and the guy sticks his naked dick in a pussy or asshole I have to stop and think to myself "that'd be like suicide" in real life. Of course porn is fantasy, but at least acknowledging the dangers now and again might make the general public a little smarter. I'm not saying that porn has a responsibility to do this, porn doesn't, but it might be helpful now and again. I'd hate to see porn go the way of covered blowjobs (Teri Weigel used to do this, just pointless), but for intercourse it shouldn't be a deal breaker, especially if a girl can then finish her guy off with a blow/hand job or tittie fuck.

Millons of people smoke everyday and they are fully aware of the dangers, and it's printed right on the pack. Planes fall from the sky, yet peole still fly. Seatbelts have been proven to save lives yet people routinely don't buckle up. As far as the dangers of sex, I choose not to buy into the whole, if you have sex you're going to die rhetoric. My feeling is avoid the high risk groups and you'll be fine.
What's the difference between lubing up your hand and jerking yourself off and fucking a condom? Answer = Fucking a condom is fucking a condom (not a person) and you're STILL taking an unnecessary risk (if you're really THAT worried about STDs) because the condom could break and you might get an STD anyway. If you're so terrified of STDs that you won't have sex without a condom (even with testing), you might as well just completely deprive yourself and abstain. You can jerk off and be 100% safe with no risk of STD. If you assign absolutely no value to full contact, it might not ruin sex for you. It does for me.
That's your opinion and I'd bet most people who are paying to stroke to porn would not agree with it at all. The first time I rented porn, I didn't even think about it because I didn't expect it. I rented 4 movies and 3 of them had rubbers in every scene. Those were VHS days and I sat there for several hours fast forwarding waiting for something I could actually stroke to. In the end, I had one halfway decent scene on the one movie that wasn't condom only. The whole operation was almost completely pointless. I felt ripped off. There were all kinds of pictures of people fucking on the boxes but there wasn't one picture of a rubber. There should have just been a big honkin' condom on the front of the box so people like me would know not to waste our time and money.
So don't watch "sex with hooker" setup and you get to relax and beat off knowing everyone has been tested. It's still not 100% safe but again, neither is the condom. It's safER but it ruins the show for many people.
It is a deal breaker for me. And I hate tittie fucking and hand jobs. Edited by - randomprecision on 3/25/2011 2:00:18 AM
Not really. Each virus has a preferred area. If they are away from their area, it's an oddity even though it does happen sometimes. You wrote as though they just make a home wherever. Just look up percentages, dude. You'll see.

Uh, because if you have sex with someone with a condom, you're having sex with a person? It's a lot more fun to fuck someone with a condom than to jerk off by yourself, imo, or are you talking only about porn-sex?
It would be a lot safer if the industry tested the day before the performers had sex, instead of a few days before a scene. Bobbi Starr said she insists on this for her scenes, if I'm remembering correctly. I suspect that this isn't done by most because of the expense, too bad the industry raced to the bottom in terms of production costs, as I'm sure this plays a role as well. Maybe as all these shitty porn companies die off the profit margins of the remaining companies and performers will improve to the point where this becomes more widespread.
I saw this once in a New Sensations Romance movie and it was definitely the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen in porn. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off. Thank god it was only a rental.
