I ordered "Bottom Feeders" from a link in the bargains page. I didn't look at the page closely enough, this DVD is from leisure time and I won't pay to sit through commercials on a DVD, or even FF thru them. The correct "Bottom Feeders" is from pleasure.

I hope I can return this :(

This was my 1st time using ADT however with the great resources here, it won't be my last.

Here the link that needs to be fixed.

Hi soundboy and welcome aboard! That is shitty you got stuck with a DVD you didn't want but you really should have checked to see exactly what you were buying. This also happened to me a couple of times when I first discovered online porn stores a few years ago but I quickly learned how they worked and I've been a very satisfied customer ever since. BTW, the real Bottom Feeders is a freakin awesome movie and I know you'll dig it as much as I do if and when you finally get it!

You should be able to return it. I've only delt with three stores from this site, so I can't comment on the others. But I returned a few defective DVDs, without hassle, from one store. Haven't had to return any to the other two stores. But I'm ass-u-me'ing that the rest of the stores should be able to provide the same customer service.

I really wish that these studios would quit copying each other's titles. This type of thing happens far too regularly.

soundboy-sorry you got stiffed but I'm sure you'll be more wary from here on. As Asmodeus said, you've got to look at the store's pic & info to make sure you've got the right movie (a price that's WAY below all the other stores should raise a red flag). Many times I've thought I found a super deal-then realized it was a title mix-up. I just report them to Steph & Drew (they'll fix it to avoid confusion). BTW-naturally it's always a lower quality studio that has a confusing title.

Some of the shitty studios routinely put out crap compilations under the same title's as other, higher quality best sellers from other studios.

Drew,
I don't know what you are using as your database key on the title table, but would it be possible to add the company name to that key? It appears that you are carrying the company name on the table, including it as part of the key could reduce the frequency of this problem.

I don't get the company names from the stores so it's not possible for me to include it as part of a unique key. The association between the title and studio is done manually on this end. I thought about requesting it from the stores but I think it would cause more problems than it would solve. You might see three or four different names for the studio of any particular title depending on which store you look at. The title field is unique on our end but not necessarily on their end.

You wouldn't believe the garbage data we get from some stores. It really complicates the data management functions quite a bit. Maintaining this beast is very labor intensive. This is evident by the fact that at least 5 other adult DVD price search sites have came and went since we started ours in April of 2000. There's one other one that's still alive but it is largely inaccurate and the search mechanism is practically useless.

Bad data sent from a company with whom you do business...boy, do I WISH that this was a concept that I would have a hard time believing.
