You can't go wrong ditching the SP2 firewall in favor of the 4.xx zonealarms and my favorite kerio 2.15 since the built-in one lacks some important program-management features that come into play with many trojans

as a person that has used Norton over the years it has been great until there 2004 release. There is some damn problem that it never updates successfully. I've done everything listed on their website an it still doesn't update the program. The virus definitons of couse will download correctly. but all the program updates from symantec do not.

IMHO Norton system works 2004, thumbs down!

Question:

On the link that joeblow provided, there is another page on how to uninstall the service pack. I'm computer challenged, so here's my question: If I uninstall the SP2, will my comp just revert back to how it was before? Or will I have to reinstall what was replaced by the SP2?

P.S. Evil Rip - I've had the same problem updating my Norton Anti-Virus just like you. Still can't figure out what's wrong.

NOD32 for NetWare retains the distinction of functioning as two NLM’s, a module for the on-access scanner and one for the on-demand scanner. As for the other stuff, I use McAfee and never had a problem with it... in fact I have a problem with all the others. No other brand of anti-virus can run decently on my machine, who knows why. Same goes for firewalls. Either they don't have what I'm looking for or do a lousy job, reducing the speed of anything. I prefered the one I have on my old machine still running win95, Tiny Personal Firewall, version 2 something. Worked great. Recent version for winxp, hate it.
