Maybe its just me, but I never spend even close to 100 or even 50 in one order. I like to watch the movies I get, several times a piece (for obvious reasons) so its doesnt make sense to buy alot at once. Plus a 5 dollar break doesnt seem like alot to me, certainly not enough to entice me to open my check book.

No offense to you Advantage Man, Im not saying your promotion isnt a good one, just not for me I guess. I would suppose my standards are to high, anything I might consider a good deal probably wouldnt make good economical sense to the seller.

Blame it on the computer hardware market I say, with their excellent rebates and continuously falling prices, Ive become spoiled. What other market can compete?

Ikea, this post was much longer then I intended.

Anteros, thank you for your feedback. I understand your dilemma. Many people don't have that much disposable income to plop down $50 or $100 on an order and usually buy 1 or 2 titles every few months.

With our new Advantage Dollars program, it is people like yourself that we are hoping to help out and convert to loyal customers. Here's how it works. You sign up for the Advantage Dollars program, and every order thereafter you accumulate Advantage Dollars (5% of all of your purchases) that can be used on future orders.

On top of the Kickbacks that you get here at ADT, you receive a 5% credit that you can use on future orders. Let's also say that you have a couple of extra dollars to spend on DVDs on your next purchase. You can get your Kickback, use one of our coupons and still get Advantage Dollars on the order for future purchases! That's 3 different rebates/credits all for one order!

Here's a quick example. You buy 3 DVDs for $60. You get a 5% Kickback from ADT ($3). Your order is now $57 and you would receive another 5% discount using our coupon ($2.85). At this point you would receive $2.71 in Advantage Dollars, which you can apply to future orders.

I hope that I have helped clarify a couple of things (please accept my apologies for this lengthy post).

Also, we have just updated our coupons exclusively for ADT users:

5% off
Coupon code: end5 ($50.00 min. order)
10% off
Coupon code: end10 ($150.00 min. order)
15% off
Coupon code: end15 ($500.00 min. order)

*These coupons are not advertised on our website.

I have purchased DVDs from both DVDAdvantage and CheapoDVD.
From every indication these are supposed to be two different web retailers. Now I see that their mailings are 99% identical, even down to the html code in the email ad, and the web addresses of both translate to the same essential web address, 206.170.99.17, and 206.170.98.250
These are both in the same subnet!

Why the deception to consumers making it look like two different stores? I haven't ever had any problems with either store, but I find it unsettling that we are all being deceived to a certain point by this company...

C'mon DVDAdvantage, a.k.a. CheapoDVD - 'fess up!!

I have no idea if this is the case, but a quite a few online retailers allow folks like you and me to "open our own store!" with our own branding, even tho it runs on their platform.

I know Effex Media does this, and you can always tell one of their branded stores since they look alike except for the store graphics and perhaps color scheme -- but they all have the same look; but the store owner does nothing, Effex does all the back-end fulfillment.

Perhaps there's something similar going on here... I have no idea in this case, it's just a thought... but I doubt it's anything nefarious.

And even if it was the same -- who cares? There's nothing deceptive going on... Are you upset when you go into a Brentano's and you're not getting the pricing of Waldenbooks? They're the same parent company, after all...

(On top of that, with all the trouble of looking up IP addresses, did you look at the domain registrations? Not the same owners...)

It was most apparent when the email ads I got from both places were absolutely identical - same discount offer for DVDs from the same studio, same small thumbnails laid out on the page in identical order, etc. The only discernable difference was the sending address. It just smells fishy.
