Maybe it's just me but I would rather less updates for more quality and (quantity). I can only speak from my limited experience. I've never been to Japan or attended shoots in Germany. A few years ago, someone who did attend some German shoots told me that men pay an admission of 100 euros to some bukkake parties and it's run like a party. Again, I've never been to one so I do not know if this is true or not. In the United States, performers expect to be paid for performances. It's as simple as that. I've held large shoots where disasters happened: performers could not perform; performers with hygiene problems which made the female performers not want to do their best; thefts on set (my checks and a female performer's IPhone); testing issues (AIM tests cost $120 and are considered valid for 30 days), fights, etc. It simply became a bigger headache than it was worth. I don't know how much greater detail you want things put. Add to that other business problems suffered by everyone else in the industry (piracy, tube sites, stolen content, file sharing, a general economic decline resulting in fewer people paying for memberships) and you have what seems to me to be a pretty clear case for tougher, leaner times. It's not as easy as putting an advertisement in the paper and having 100 guys showing up with tests and IDs.
