I've seen volumes 1 and 6 now and they both have little to be desired. I don't understand why Diabolic continues to delivery mediocre porn. I'm curious if anyone else has seen any volumes of the Spring Chickens series from Diabolic and their opinions on this line.
I had avoided Ana/Diabolic titles for some time as well, but Cal had recommended I give them another shot due to changes being made for the better.
I've viewed several recent titles from both studios and to be honest, it's apparent some titles are actually getting worse, not better. There's a noticeable attempt at delivering more scenes, longer scenes and lots of extra footage, but all that means absolutely nothing if their production values are shit. They continue to film girls with acne, no make-up and average wardrobe and pair them with average, at best performers while being fucked on dirty card board boxes in a warehouse.
There are still some great titles being released by ana/diabolic, but it's really a roll of a dice if you're going to be getting your money's worth.
Cube - I wouldn't recommend buying any titles from this series. If you must, rent first.
Honestly, I've seen "Spring Chickens 5" and "Spring Chickens 6" and thought they were okay. Jennifer Luv was off the chart in #5 and Nautica and Avena were pretty good in #6.
I don't know if A/D is really worse than the other companies now. They are just different. Chico has said he is trying to demystify the process, which explains his lack of attention to such things as locale and make-up. It really doesn't bother me that they don't even bother to get some mansion and look to actually just film these scenes at either a crappy studio or even in the A/D offices/wharehouses.
However, I would definitely say that right now A/D is a bit hit and miss. I would recommend renting first before buying from them right now. I didn't mind these "Spring Chicken" installments but quite obviously some have.
Kelly, the thing is, why settle for below average to average when there's so much better available?
I don't expect lavish, mansion type settings in the scenes much like you may expect from digital sin in many of their titles, but at the same time it's apparent absolutely no thought is going into delivering higher production values. After all, RLD has pretty standard settings yet they pull it off. DVSX, Plat X, RLD, ZT, these are all studios that attempt to present girls looking their best and in a pleasing atmosphere.
A good, recent example is Mike John's No Cum Dodging Allowed 2. He makes it very clear he's not worried about settings and wardrobe yet he's very selective on talent and makes damn sure the girls look great and you're getting good performances.

Volume 2 with Valerie and Sophie Gently scorches and Volume 3 with Elizabeth Del Mar,Jeannie Rivers,Rose Petal and DP's from Melanie Jagger,Stacy Carpenter and Aimee Tyler is hardly a throwaway.
Greetings, my first post, long time reader of this site. Anabolic/Diabolic has always been one of my favorite studios. I always loved their style and they didnt try to insult my intelligence by having phoney storylines, and lame set ups to scenes. I also love the idea of the girls always playing to the camera. When all the directors left, I was worried about how Chico would do. His style is different, but I really didnt notice any change overall. After all these years, I still love A/D movies. For me, I would still take the worst A/D movie over the scripted and lame crap Evil Empire turns out (except for Jules Jordan, he is great). The picture quality is still better than almost all of the other gonzo studios too. I think if you like girls playing to the camera, and hate scripted gonzo, you will still love Anabolic/diabolic.

No doubt that they have assembled attractive women (Girls) for this series, but the premise and antics are so far fetched and stupid, that any true porn fan would have to pass on the purchase of this series.
Personally I don't care where the scene is shot, whether indoors, in a mansion, or in a back alley, just as long as the sex is hot and nasty, the girls are hot and enjoying it, and, oh, most importantly, that the scene is filmed well.
But no I've never seen any of this series, so I can't comment on how it is now, or how it was.
Not all their girls look that fresh if you ask me...

You can certainly say you don't care for something, but reworded so it is not a 'slam' statement.
I've only seen Spring Chickens 2, whch I enjoyed somewhat due to the high quality of Euro Babes. But that's the only high quality aspect of the movie, and other Jon Dough A/D titles I saw didn't appeal to me at all. I can understand that some people will appreciate his simplistic approach of simply shooting the girl(s) getting fucked, but it is just too crude for me. I think the variety of responses illustrate exactly why this line is a continuing and successful one, it provides precisely what some fans are looking for, even as others, including me, want something different (how's that for tact, DD!).
what Anabolic/Diabolic definitely need is to hired make up people. I got Un_Natural Sex 11 just to see Holly Stevens scene and couln't recognize the girl at the begining. she look awful, totally trailer trash. ..seems like if anabolic ask the girl not to sleep and take a bath for a couple of days before filming her scene. ...great double vaginal but stinky presentation.

I'm not demanding when it comes to settings. It's just from what I've been seeing as of lately from ana/diabolic it's pretty much the bottom of the barrel. As with everyone else, I'm more interested in beautiful girls getting drilled. Your thoughts on shooting the girls in an empty room with a green carpet sounds mighty fine to me. It would be an improvement.
