I also don't think it's a good idea, from a business standpoint, to withold certain acts for your own site. For one thing you are no longer getting paid for those acts but are banking on people paying to see you do those acts. The cost of starting and maintaining a website is a significant investment. if you aren't computer savy then it means paying someone to take care of it. Then you need a credit card processor so part of your profit goes to them. Now you need someone to film and take pictures so more money. If these women are made to feel that they have to keep their word forever and ever, as though they are married to their word without any possibility of divorce, then this probably will discourage many women from doing anal porn. The reason why many women in porn don't do anal at first but later change their minds and start doing anal is because the porn industry is so open and non-judgmental about having anal sex. Women, who enter the porn industry, make friends with others in the porn-industry, including guys and gals who do anal porn. When your friends like something and are into it, then this naturally makes you feel predisposed to do it too. But of course, this kind of thing depends on who the ladies make friends with. And if they change their friends, then this can change their minds too. Which is probably what happens for ladies who say that they will do anal, but then later change their mind. Guys should have a chance to persuade the pretty lady, as long as she is willing to listen. They've simply said "We're going to do anal", on a consistent basis over a period of years, and then completely failed to deliver on that statement. That is manipulative behavior. They are stringing their fans along because they know that a portion of them want to see anal, but they know that the longer they wait, the bigger their brand becomes and - theoretically - the more money and exposure they will get from doing the anal scene. (Or showcase DVD or whatever it turns out to be.) This has happened time and time again in the porn industry, especially with contract girls. It is a marketing tactic. If they're delaying because of personal doubts, that's fine, but they haven't said anything. If they're delaying because they want to be ready for the scene, that's fine too, but they haven't said anything about that either. Of course, they don't have to say anything, but do you not see the pattern of manipulation that underlies that kind of behavior? Why should we respect that? These discussions are always weird because we're combining points about individual sexual rights with points about proper business conduct. That ambiguity comes with the territory when you're talking about porn. So let me make my stance clear, clearly and definitively. * NOBODY "deserves" to do anal (or any sex act) just because they said they would. * NOBODY should be begrudged for declining to do anal (or any sex act), even if they previously said they would. I'm making a point about the mixed signals being sent to the fans, which are, judging from past examples in the industry, very likely an intentional marketing tactic that is employed to exploit fan interest in the idea of anal sex in order to increase brand recognition and potential payouts for the model... at the cost of disrespecting the intelligence and integrity of the fans. They shouldn't feel like they have to do anal. They shouldn't feel like they have to rush doing anal. BUT, they should feel like they need to be more communicative with the people that are supporting their livelihood and growing their brand. Do you understand the distinction? The thing about personal rights and freedoms is that people don't lose them, when they get involved in some commercial activity, such making porn for example. These freedoms are guaranteed by the US Constitution for all US citizens equally. Which means that porn-stars have exactly the same Constitutional rights and freedoms as everyone else has. Nobody can come to your home and force you to make a decision about having some kind sex that you might feel good about. And even in public places, nobody is allowed to harass you about making such a decision. And that's the way it is for porn-stars too. Because they have same rights and freedoms as you have. [Link] |
