The middle portion can even out for a lot women, and that's when they feel good about their pregnancy, are enjoying the changes in their bodies, and generally feel better. This is also when I started feeling the baby move, and started feeling protective at that stage. It's a very private experience between mother and baby; even fathers admit to feeling left out. Speaking of fathers, daddies might not want their babies (even if they're hidden inside of mommy) appearing in a porno movie. Some mommies likely feel the same way. Personally I'd feel pretty creepy about people wacking off to my body with my baby just under the skin. But that's me.

She might not want to expose her baby to even the slightest potential health risks. If she's got money saved and she doesn't have to work, she can take it easy and pamper herself and the baby.

Last, she might be embarrassed by her body, and all the nifty noises and secretions it makes when you least expect it. That's one of the strangest things about pregnancy. It's like you get possessed by an alien. The body you always took for granted--your center of gravity, the width of your hips, the regularity of your digestion, the complexion of your skin, the condition of your hair--suddenly change, and you feel like you're in this strange contraption you don't quite know how to work. You feel clumsy and awkward, because you're still working with your old body awareness. By the time you adapt to your new body, it's all over.

Like I said, I really enjoyed my pregnancy. But it's a very private thing, and I wouldn't want anyone other than my family to share any part of it.
