I am looking for advice from the directors, actors, producers, or porn experts on how to orchestrate recording a porn video. I wanted to know if you guys could give me advice on how to hire women, what kind of medical tests or forms I need to fill our first, and any other recommendations you might have. If anyone knows where other online resources may be, Id definitly appreciate that too. Thanks for all the help guys.

Just get a pack of Trojans, a big bucket of fried chicken, some lube and go hang out at the bus station. You'll find lots of willing talent!

No, just kidding. If you take some time, you can find a lot of posts with info that you're looking for -- but it will take some time. However, you'll find lots of detailed commentary -- until others chime in with some thoughts.

It might be hard for you to convince agents to send you any talent if you're new in the game.

Definitely. I normally dont do it either. But if you do take the time to actually travel to my place and do have recent HIV and STS tests, a film crew showing that you are not a lonly wanna-be director but an escort freak, and if you bring along the cash needed, all can be arranged on spot.

Don't forget about college girls, hispanic maids, girls that get pulled over, etc. I've seen it happen all the time on the internet.

Well, I must admit, the production I was considering would be similar to backroomfacials, Bruno B, a few of Brandon Irons, type gonzo movies. Do people usually need to make a name for themselves before producing these type of 1 on 1 gonzos to escape the "lonely wanna-be director" rap? I just always found those types of internet vids to be some of my favorites and thought I had the potential to make a similar site. Anyway, I suppose I just want to know, what does it take to get credibility? That was my initial reason for signing up on Adult Talk, I was trying to get an idea of what it takes to get into that aspect of Adult films.

Uncle Leroy,

A few years ago when I was in college I had the same idea. I am no expert, but with lot of research, I did find out that it takes money and lots of it just to start if you are serious and I would also suggest you get a good lawyer. One that has experience in dealing with any problems that can occur with porn production/disribution, obscenity laws, etc. I'm sure others could tell you more. Anyway, if you truly want to do it, it's not impossible of course but it is not easy.

Be a company, hopefully a corporation - get some leads, meet some agents or shooters, you will get girls, they are needing the work, always.

Or you could always walk into world modeling or another agency with 10k and they will let have a half dozen models to shoot.

If you're in Los Angeles or San Diego, take the "How to Make Adult Films" course at the Learning Annes. Next one in LA is 3/13 and in San Diego is 3/18--it's cheap compared to what the instructor charges as a per hour consulting fee:-))

You'll learn more from people already in the industry than you would from a book or a seminar.

Getting girls is one of the lesser problems. If you wanna save some good money on that, come to Europe. But getting started a good distro and handle all the legal aspects - that is a though one.

Uncle Leroy,
It is important to know that making porn with style and creativity is not as easy as it looks and not as easy as others would have you believe. But producing good porn will only represent 25% of your efforts.

An additional 25% will be used on issues of post production. Editing, Mastering, Duplication, Labeling, Packaging and so forth.

But by far; 50% of your efforts must be on selling your product. In an oversaturated market this is the most brutal element of the business.

Before you spend your money (or other peoples money) on production you need to consider how you intend to sell your product. Will it be via distributors (good luck), directly to stores, hardcopies via the web, web streaming, mail order or a combination of them all.

Don't spend one dime before you do your homework! It will seem like your not really doing business during this planning time but if you don't have an idea of how to handle these issues before they hit you, you'll be floored when they do come at you...and they will.

This is a real business, and as such, you will need to plan for the long term or you will go under.

If you do enter the arena, good luck! it's a really tough business.
