Hoping someone has some more insight to the current state of European feature films. I'm a big fan of older Private, Rocxi, Tip-top, Xcel, and other studios from the 1990s and early 2000s. Especially enjoy productions from directors like D'Amato, Luca Damiano, Kovi, JF Romagnoli, Steve Morelli, Pierre Woodman, and Antonio Adamo.
Unfortunately Private's offerings have drastically diminished in quantity and quality. They seem to focus mostly on gonzo offerings by David Perry, Denis Marti and Toni Ribas. If I want gonzo amateur POV stuff featuring tattooed girls, I'll stick with American porn. And Dorcel doesn't cut it for me -- I prefer condom-less features.
For awhile it looked like Daring had partnered with Adamo for some big feature films like the Roma trilogy. And Woodman had his own stuff with the X-Calibur trilogy. But I've seen nothing new from either of them in the last few months.
I've drifted over to other studios like ATV, Pinko, and Geo-Media for feature films. But I'm still curious what has happened to the bigger studios. Any ideas? Thanks.

Hi moutonfan,
we're having the pleasure to review some of the big European blockbusters since a couple of years ago. Companies like PRIVATE had some big features which we appreciated very much, e.g. the Gladiator trilogy with Rita Faltoyano, I'm sure you've seen it.
In the years 2003-2006, there were some as well, for example Cleopatra I/II, Private Millionaire (the sequel Billionaire was released 2008) or Robinson Crusoe on Sin Island.
The movie "Sex City" (2006) won some awards like EroticLine or AVN. In 2008, the last big production was The Sexth Element (5th Element parody). But you're right, in the last months they concentrated on lower budget releases, fetish movies or repetitions/compilations.
Regarding Woodman Entertainment: We haven't heard anything from them since 2 years or so. Unfortunately. Their last big one was the "Perfectionist" Trilogy starring Divinity Love and Boroka Balls.
For PRIVATE - well, they have a successful lesbian series (Girl Girl Studio) which is produced by Keana Moiré and/or Louis Moiré, a german director living in prague, who is doing some of the bigger productions for Private or MarcDorcel. He comes from photography and mainstream movies, so I would regard him as one of the most talented in European Adult Biz right now. (Seen "Ritual", 2008? It's definitely a high-end movie... despite of the condoms ;)
Let's wait and see what comes up, as soon as we get new release infos, I can post it - perhaps there will be some European blockbusters again. Greets,
