| Narcissus Deactivated User Love Thyself 418 Posts 1/08 | Posted - May 22 2014 : 4:41AM didn't realize she killed herself when i started reading the thread and looking at her first xxx clip. i was super excited about to have a new fav girl. her body was just amazing. unbelievably sad what happened. and holy fuck... she did it with a 12-guage? damnnnn. no, porn is not to blame. it's how social media has empowered shit-talkers and bullies. girls who have never done porn are committing suicide from social media bullying. not sure what can actually be done to stop cowards like this but something has gotta change. in these last few years, we've seen too many hot young girls take their own lives over being blasted online by idiots. like one poster said, i also wish i could've said something to her before she made such a permanent decision. i've seen similar stories play out with new girls coming into the adult biz. they get harassed endlessly by people back in their hometowns that didn't approve. on so many occasions i've had to talk girls down from being at their wits end over all the vicious and negative talk. it seems this poor girl needed more friendly voices on her side to combat the mean ones. This week, Fox 9, the network’s Minneapolis-St. Paul affiliate, aired a report on Funke’s death titled “The Pressure of Porn.” There is no mention of suicide’s frightening prevalence on college campuses or that it is the second-leading cause of death of Americans ages 18 to 24. Instead, Funke’s death was co-opted in a moralistic, slipshod investigation that doesn’t even get her date of death correct. (While the report claims she killed herself April 14, her last tweet is from April 15.) Funke is depicted as a “young, impressionable woman” who didn’t understand the “unforeseen consequences” of entering the world of porn and “having sex with a total stranger”—listen to the news report for the narrator’s ominous emphasis on “stranger.” Fox 9 appears to be on a crusade to prove that porn is a denigrating career choice with lethal ramifications. The investigation makes a point of showing that Funke is a “dramatic contrast” to Miriam Weeks, the well-known Duke porn star better known as Belle Knox. Funke’s alleged suicide is used to dismiss Knox’s claim that she feels “empowered” by porn. Fox 9 also cites social worker Joy Friedman, who alleges Funke was lying when she said on the CastingCouch-X video that she had a normal childhood. “I bet if we had to go back and pull back the layers of what happened for her, I imagine we’d find something dysfunctional in her past,” Friedman states without any factual basis.' This mistake is in all the articles I've seen and has sometimes been used to insinuate that she must have been scared away after doing one. 2) The social media was filled with insults towards her. Some way worse than anything mentioned in the news. Of course they can't find these because most were deleted by the perpetrators when the news of her suicide started spreading in her local town. As should be clear from my earlier posts, I became aware of this shortly after she ended it and had the chance of seeing some of the stuff before people started deleting. Some of it was repulsive. The media can't find most of it because they only started reporting more than a month after her death!! What did they expect? That people would leave the 'evidence' for everyone to see when it could be deleted by a click of a bottom? A few didn't even care after her death and continued to post unpleasant stuff. Check the 19 April message on her tribute page, only a few days after her death and well before the news media took up the case. Much of this is irrelevant to the big picture but I wish the media would get their facts straight in cases this serious. Regardless of all the factors involved in her tragic death (we may never know the details for sure): R.I.P. and I do hope her family and friends can find the strength to go through this difficult time. By Paul Walsh and Tim Harlow Star Tribune January 30, 2018 - 9:41pm A two-day standoff at a hotel near the University of Minnesota ended Tuesday afternoon when police arrested a man who had holed up in a sixth-floor room while grieving for his daughter and sending angry messages alleging someone had stolen his exotic cat. Officers apprehended the man shortly before 1:45 p.m. at the Graduate Hotel near the University of Minnesota, said police spokesman Scott Seroka. Police declined to name the man, but acquaintances identified him as Rashad Bowman, 43, who had lived in Woodbury recently. Bowman has theft and drug convictions on his record. At a news conference afterward, U Police Chief Matt Clark said the standoff began when police were called to the hotel to check the suspect's welfare. For the first 24 hours they were concerned about a woman in the room with him, based on his threats and reports from family that he might have been armed. The woman was released at midnight Tuesday, but Bowman refused to surrender. Negotiations continued peacefully until 8 a.m., when he began lighting fires in the room and "saying he was going to torch or burn down the hotel," Clark said. "He continued to do that and threaten officers by saying that he had a firearm and was ready to use it." Whitlock said she turned over the cat on Thursday to the Wildcat Sanctuary in Sandstone, Minn. Staff there said the cat had a bone disease when it was young, which is common with an improper diet.
