So I spent 20 minutes talking to Steven Hirsch in Las Vegas. He's pretty much an "on-message" guy and obviously a huge booster of his company. This isn't a "breaking down the fourth wall" conversation, like the one with Mike John, or even the (fun, offbeat, cranky and surprising) upcoming chat with Paul Thomas. But even if you think Vivid sucks, you might be interested in hearing where Hirsch is coming from, and where he's trying to go with the company that defines "mainstream porn."

I had the chance to meet Steven Hirsch at Avn too.
He is one of the most intelligent, down to earth guys i've met in the adult business.
I don't think Vivid sucks at all, they won for best gonzo with Chemistry and Best Interactive with Virtual Sunny, two genres they are not known for.
Vivid seems to be the biggest adult company in the world, they didn't get there by Hirsch being stupid.
Two years ago they took off the condoms, thank God, and I think that was a gutsy move.I don't like everything they put out, but I love Lanny Barby, Stephanie Morgan is totally hot,
Savanna Samson ditto.
Also I have been a huge fan of the ALT movement, their shit rocks, it is the real deal.
