I'm surprised at how few stores in our price search are carrying Fashionistas. It's the biggest release in a long time, yet only 6 out of the 20 stores in our price search have it listed (list here.) It's already FiveStar's #2 Best Seller, #7 at DVDEmpire. Is it because of the price? Or does it just take a while to get new releases posted?
(stores, if you do have it listed and I don't have it matched up in our price search please let me know - I just did a quick check on that.)
I know I'll eventually buy it. But right now I'm kinda broke.
But $50 for 4 discs, come on people it's not a ridiculous price to ask. It's won awards, two reviewers gave it 5's here on ADT, and Mlyons reviewed it a long while back, saying stuff about it that got him quoted on the cover, and you get 4+ hours of footage. You get music, you get extras, and you get a cool looking case, which Tricia was so nice to show to me at the show.
The problem is that most people don't know all of this. All that they know is that this movie costs twice as much as other movies.
Don't forget...ADT members are not the "average" porn viewer. As a whole, we have access to a lot of information that the "average" buyer doesn't know about.
We have it listed for the LOW price of $41.95! Plus DOMESTIC ORDERS selecting ADULT SHIPPING SPECIAL (as their shipping choice) receive FREE SHIPPING on this one as it counts as 4 discs! International orders get the super low shipping price of $1.99 when selecting ADULT SHIPPING SPECIAL.
However, I don't see us in the search and we have had it posted for 2 days.
lasersedge brings up a good point, which is that there can be an appreciable delay between when a vendor lists it and when it show up in ADT's price search. I've experienced this myself on occasion.

The delay is typically less than 12 hours for most titles that match our spelling exactly. Our price search handn't picked up any new titles from Laser's Edge since the 12th of this month due to a bug in my import program.
My program was crashing on this DVD while trying to match it up to something in our database.
I should add that we have a huge problem maintaining the price search data when a store's part numbers are in a state of flux.
Example, a store submits Sex Movie 1, part number 1234 today. It's hooked up in our database tonight. Then for some reason part number 1234 is no longer suitable for Sex Movie 1 and is changed to 5678. Now we are getting sex Movie 1 submitted under a new part number and it looks like a duplicate to us so we ignore it.
So should I understand that you type up a list of new titles and do matches on that? I hadn't considered the mechanics of it, but that would certainly explain it.

Adult DVD Blue has Fashionistas for $40.95 at the moment. They have a free domestic shipping coupon available as well.
Our price search does not calculate the free shipping coupon in the order comparison page.

I'm sure Fashionistas is great, seriously nothing has been shown to me that would suggest otherwise. But when I look at a movie and it says $50 I just can't bring myself to buy it. It may be 4 DVDs, but I look at it as a 1 title (I bought Star Wars Ep. 2 for 9.99 for 2 DVDs, but it's still 1 title). If you're a casual fan, even if you heard it's good, you're gonna be put off by the price. When Virtual Sex with Jenna Jameson was brand new I bought it for $50, and after like a week I was like "why the hell did I spend that much money?" It may be the best deal of the year, but it faces a mental block of $50 for 1 title, which is hard for much of us to overcome.
For the life of me, I'll never understand why the stores don't use the UPC number for their part number. It's unique from movie to movie and it would make access from other sites extremely easy.
The vast majority of adult studios don't have UPC codes for their products. A few do. Some that do use them actually repeat the same UPC bar code and number on over a dozen different titles. It's really quite a mess.
