But lesbians who watch lesbian porn doesn't seem to be that common. When I ask why, they say something along the lines of "no lesbians ever have sex like that!" Again, generalizations, but definitely trends I've noticed. I always assumed it was because boy/boy porn is made with a gay male audience in mind, while girl/girl porn is (mostly) made with a straight male audience in mind. So that leaves lesbians looking elsewhere for their porn. And where do they look? Straight porn, which is somewhat made with the thought that women might watch it. Though the female audience is still ignored by many straight productions. Where was I going with this? Oh yeah. I originally thought about it a few posts back, because I know some straight women who are actually quite fond of beards, chest hair etc. so I thought "hey, maybe some of them are fond of hairy cock&balls too." (Personally, I don't care whether the guy has hairy balls or not. But I'm also indifferent towards women shaving or not shaving downstairs. So how men are shown in this kind of porn has to take that into account, they'll likely be secondary or little more than props, or not there at all(G/G, solo). Just because someone who doesn't like vaginas ends up looking at a "B/G"/straight/"naked woman porn" video or whatever in order to see a male performer who doesn't perform in B/B scenes doesn't mean the people who actually like women should have to put up with long shots of balls, manass and manface. So the argument that men should shave down there to be considerate of the women sucking their dicks doesn't hold water. That argument would apply more to women since women do have hair on the vagina where oral sex is performed. So if it's about partner consideration, then that is more of a reason for women to shave, not men. As for the balls, I guess it kinda doesn't matter to me whether dudes in porn shave them or not as long as he keeps the rest of his pubic hair. Again, it just looks weird when grown men have no hair down there at all. Plus, women generally prefer it too. If you listen to women who chime in when these conversations come up here and on social media, most of them say that they prefer body/pubic hair on men. It's also been my personal observation that women prefer this. As for why it matters to me as a straight man, I am a man who doesn't shave my body/pubic hair. I just don't see any reason for it. I like it. Women say they like it. Plus, I was always taught that shaving your body hair is unmasculine. In my opinion, shaving your pubic hair is no different from shaving your legs. It's just something that I don't think men should do. I think guys in porn do it for three reasons: (1) They're just too used to doing it now. I think once they've been it for so long, it just feels normal for them, and they would feel weird not doing it. I think most of the guys in porn are at the point where they would actually feel uncomfortable growing out their pubic hair just because they've been shaving it for so long. (2) All the guys in porn are doing it now. I have no idea why, but they just are. So maybe there's the pressure to do like all the guys are doing. It's just another one of those trends that everyone in porn decides to follow because someone deemed it "popular," like covering girls in oil, or this "stepmother" fad, or no one shooting rough/extreme scenes anymore, etc. I call it porn peer pressure. Everyone doing the same thing that everyone else is doing. (3) I supect that there may be pressure from the industry for guys to do this. Maybe guys feel that they won't get work if they don't shave because of a preference directors have to book hairless guys. Maybe there's an unwritten rule somewhere that guys have to shave to get work with certain companies. I'm further convinced of this when I see guys like Tommy Pistol, who has always had body hair, now suddenly shaving his whole body when he works for companies like Brazzers. He just looks weird now.
