I came across this board after reading a Village Voice article about a porn star named Christian, and the double-standards in the porn industry.

A few anti-tranny lines made by ignorant guys were really disturbing to read:

Argument: A tranny is a man with estrogen

Everybody has estrogen (female sex hormone), women have testosterone as well (male sex hormone). Sex hormones are responsible for the secondary sex characteristics of both sexes. Estrogen levels are higher in women than in men. Estrogen levels are higher in trannies than in men. In some cases trannies have less testosterone running through their bodies than XX women.

Argument: A tranny is a man with breasts

Trannies not only have female breasts that can lactate, they also have female fat redistribution, soft feminine skin, female gender identity, female hair pattern, etc...to reduce transsexuals to "men with breasts" is ridiculous and stems out of prejudice, not facts.

Argument: A tranny will never be biologically female.

It takes more to being a woman than the abscence of a Y chromosome. For example, women with CAIS (Complete Androgen Insensitivity Syndrome) are born with fully functional vaginas, but have XY (male) chromosomes . This women are more common than transsexuals, but they are far less noticeable because they tend to look even more feminine than your average XX woman. Are we so quick to judge this women and their partners on the basis of their chromosomes?

Male and female genitals are pretty much the same thing. The testes and ovaries form from the same tissue, but under the influence of testosterone the testes descend, the labia closes and becomes the scrotum (guys, the vertical line on your scrotum is where you had a pussy when you were fetus), and the clitoris enlarges and becomes the penis.

A heterosexual man would easily be attracted to Buck Angel, before her transition. But what kind of men would be attracted to Buck Angel today? Obviously gay and/or bisexual man. The gay man who falls for buck angel would have to decide if the person is more important than the penis.

So please guys, stop trying to prove your manhood by dissing trannies. Being homophobic does not equal being heterosexual. All this fear of being gay because of attraction to trannies is irrational.
