Just got this disc today & wanted to see if anyone else is having any problems. On my XBox, chapters 1-6 seem to work fine, but chapter 7 (Bella Donna's scene) continually freezes up, with parts of the image sometimes dissolving into random pixels. The bonus scene (Fujiko's blowjob) suffers from the same problem, to a lesser degree.

I've been playing all manner of discs on my XBox since day one, with no problems, except for a couple of all-region Asian discs that wouldn't play.

Hi Zatoichi, I'm sorry to hear of the problems you're having but I also have this DVD and it plays perfectly in my player as well as DVD-ROM. I really don't know what could be causing your troubles other than the disk being defective, but I have heard of others having problems playing DVD's on game systems such as the Xbox and Play Station 2 so the trouble could lie there...

I bought the Straight to the A DVD and it could not play chapter 7 (Bella's scene). This is the exact same problem you are experiencing. The disk also had problems getting started as well. I tried the dvd in a stand alone and 2 computer dvd drives and they all had problems with this disk. I exchanged the dvd for another copy, and it plays properly (albeit with a brief -- 1 sec pixallation at about the beginning of that scene). There may be a defective production batch where some copies are good and others are not. Exchange your dvd for something that works.

Incidentally, I started a thread asking the same question. You might want to check the responses of other posters in that thread.

Thanks for the assistance everyone. RonK, your experience leads me to think that there may be a batch of these that was defective-the next step is try this disc on my friend's player (Pioneer DV-626D w/codefree mod-plays anything you throw at it). If it doesn't work there, then it'll be time to send it back, although I'm a bit worried about the possibility of the second copy having the same problem.
I'll post the results, regardless of what happens.

Actually, my second copy also has problems playing the last track. I tried playing it again yesterday and it would play the first time but got stuck ever since on the last chapter. I think that there is a defect in the mastering and a good player with superior error correction or laswer tracking might track the whole thing easily. Lesser players are hits and misses.

This dvd is problematic, but I don't think the quality of the dvd player is an issue.

Straight to the A (chapter 7) would not play on my $1000 Pioneer, BUT I have a Chinese imported player worth less than $200 and the same dvd plays fine !

totally awesome film though

Update: my friend tried this disc on his Pioneer DV-626D & reports that it played without a hitch. I think what we need to do is establish a list of which Red Light discs are having problems, and on which player(s). I'd also like to propose that we start a separate thread for this. Your thoughts?

Red Light titles have the same problems that Anabolic/Diabolic discs have a long time ago: They don't play on some players. I assume it's the same company mastering those titles which they should change quite urgently...

We have a DVDROM that doesn't play ANY of the Red Light discs - however all other DVDs run fine there.

The most problems we encountered with Red Light discs were with "Just over Eighteen".
